Unfortunately we had some problems that resulted on some loss of time, but we mostly spent our day exchanging our researches on the 3 sound research

We had a lot of different demonstrations and interpretations, some of them were similar to my research.

Then we were assigned on working on our instrument, we have until tomorrow to finish the object, I’m still debating how to approach the final object, but I do have some options. (Check research and sketchbook) 

After class I stayed at Ebac with some other collegues working on our own projects, I started my new sketchbook and wrote and drew some options for my instruments. We spent our morning deciding how we’re going to record the sounds.
We decided on recording our sounds separately, only combining then in the program.
The reason for that is because our instruments varied in sounds too much, so when played together, one would prevail.
After lunch we had a talk w Jaggo where he explained different techniques and programs for us to use in the project.

He explained well but quickly since we’ve lost some time for the class.
I explained the classs better in the research page, but he did taught me new things and peaked my interest.
After the workshop me and my group worked on recording a new song with our instruments, since the previous werent working.
It took a while but eventually we managed to fully record the song, in a proper manner.
Jade then edited the audios together and made everything perfect and clean.
Then we began to think on our graphic score for our music.

I got really frustrated because I had some problems with the programs.

Midway from the project my group decided that it would be better to change layout of the animation, but this made that the format i was using was not the correct one for the new ideia.
Whitout time to correct we decided to use plan 3, to scatter the diferent animations on the screen in hope to create movement.

 Arrange the graphic score to fit a decent presentation manner
Finish scyncing the animation with the sound.

Since the graphic score was a more manual job, the group decided to switch parts, i went to work on the graphic score w Amanda, and Jade and Sofia worked on the editing.

We had so many issues with deciding where to place the score, the thing is huge! 25 meters. So we spent the whole day thinking, doing and trying.
We though on cutting it and putting it on the walls, placing it around the whole room, placing it in the open area in the 3rd floor, but the latter option failed because of the wind.

In the end, we decided to make the 25 meter work into a scroll so it would be more fit for space and ergonomic.

1- Me and my group were pretty together the entire project week, so we exchanged a lot of diferent ideias and information before deciding on the finalized project, my part was the animation process, and I made sure to interact and notice my group throught the whole way, from ideias to the final version, i made sure they all knew what i was doing.

2- One that I found interessing was that maybe we shoulve payed more attention with the materials of the graphic score, this topic Ive been told by before and its really important to me, so hearing this makes me think that i should check not only the work process but pay a lot of attention on the presentation.

I was Better this way so that I could paint them.
I decided to paint them gray to simbolize the ambient and feeling of the scene, that is misterious and scary, it wasn’t a plain gray either, I mixed tones to create depth.

I did the walls and then glued then to the sides of my box according to my sketches, I did cut some parts so it could fit better. After gluying everything together, I took some photos of the work, and saw that my plan worked.

Today we presented our work to our tutor and had another classmate to judge our work as a whole.
Bia was my judge and I showed her all my process, according to her, she enjoyed the video and all, but felt that there was a lack of color to comunicate my identity, so that’s a good point to take attention to.

After the individual crit, we had a group crit where the whole group reviewed one student project at a time.

Mine brought mixed feelings but was positive overall.

After lunch we were assigned to work on our portfolio. Contextually- I still need more time to think about this, but I do think that the materials used will help to deliver the message of my project.

Today I kept working on what I’ve planned for my figure, but it took a while to decide on the materials.

Also, I had some thought about if I should or not add more paper to the body of my character. But then I decided to cover some parts in armor but not all of it.

I decided to go for a crusader style armor. The style is nice and I think it will translate well to my work.

I still need to think of a base for the figure, and I was thinking abou using metal wires to increase the feel of movement of the whole composition.

We were supposed to write a planning and a rationale before this class, I’ve done, and it helped me decide the right motives why I wanted to redo a certain project and what I could de better.
Although I haven’t rewritten my own brief yet, I did have some thought about it, with a group we discussed some ideias and plans of my project and of them, and with that I think that I should attempt to focus more on the main objective of the project, since often times I drift off the main topic while doing my work.
I attempted to create a action plan, but, I’ve had problems deciding the order of my actions, and since I have a good amount of time, I should try to build an action plan focusing more on experimentation and research.

What am I’m missing for my portifolio.

I’ve been following my action plan, although today I was supposed to begin the final work, I got occupied with my portifolio. That I’m still missing the framing, and printing of my works.
For my BA choice, I think that my choices of works for my portifolio were the best I could choose to best represent me. But my personal letter was lacking crucial points, while still having too much information that isn’t useful.

For today then, I worked on my portifolio in class, and had some insightful talks with both Ceasar and Michael. I decided to prioritize the portifolio, as it’s more important for the moment, and it will take more of my time.

We got ideias about adding a comedic tone to our video and use the topic of leaving food in the workplace and animals getting attracted by it.
Then, we came up with 3 different situations to emphasize how bad it’s to leave food around. After, the workers will find a locker full of expired food and wild animals and scold the owner of the locker.
We’re still debating if we want to make 3 different scenes, but we’ll make 2 main ones, if we have time, we’ll make the third one.

The introduction I had with Marcello was  calm, we had similar ideias so we decided to merge them together to create something new.
Since it was a combination of similar projects, dividing the information was simple but effective, we even managed to come up with even more ideias at the moment.
Marcello was entrusted into creating the characters an I was to do backgrounds, but we both would make the small props. The whole way we worked together and shared ideias.
But when were not together, making work done is hsrd do we should maybe work on that.

Have better commuication outside of class is something Id want to improve moving foward.

I today's class we began to draw the finished work in Photoshop, he made the characters and I made some backgrounds. What can I improve in my planning?

My production today was about adding textures and creating the rest of the scenes of the animation, I did some before, but was missing a couple, só in the morning I used my time to make those. Me and Marcello gave lots of thoughts to the scenes and we managed to create something satisfactory.

I finished the bathroom scene the day before and was making the locker room, adding textures and fixing some areas of it, something to note is to not correct a line art using white solids, as when you’re going to add textures that area will show up.

Unfortunately, in the middle of working, all the computers suddenly tuned off and un- logged from our accounts. Now I wasn’t saving my work on my pendrive of my personal file, only on the computer memory, and once it looged off all my data was deleted. This was harsh as I lost a lot of progress.

Today I managed to finish another big scene, I sent it to Marcello and he liked as well, I fell that now that I have more knowledge of how to use Photoshop, I can manage to make the scenes even faster, and with the same quality.
I also had a talk with Carlos, previously we talked on how it would help if I had a personal agenda to get remind myself of some obligations, I made one and he was happy with it, we talked as well on my Padlet, as there’s some things it need to be added to make it better, but he saw and improvement.

-How I think is the best way to present our work to the client?

In this project, Marcello was a really good partner, very positive and controlled, he had good and similar ideas that resonated well with me. And creating the project was really fun, since we were very vocal with our ideias, always letting the partner know what’s going on.
For our presentation tomorrow, I think we should try to present it in a very organized fashion, since our work is based on infomercials, having a clean open space is ideal, maybe with our mood board or portifolios, but not focusing on that.

Today we were basically wrapping up the components to the video, at morning I finished the last scenario and props, after lunch I went to look for sound effects to use in the video while Marcello was putting the scenes together. After done we added some details and fixed some small issues, but I’m happy with the outcome.
I’m very proud of Me and Marcello, we both have our best and worked really well with the time frame, he taught me a lot as well so I definitely consider him as a good partner.

Client feedback- After showing our video and work process, the client told us that the style used was good and is easy to understand, but there was an issue in the first clip where the message wasn’t very clear as it a little distant from the rest of the style, but it’s easily fixable , so it wasn’t an issue.

How did you managed your time during the project?
Were you on time for the deadline?
How would you organize your time for next similar projects?

Time wasn’t a issue this project, me and Marcello were certain of our actions and we knew that if we followed the format we decided, we would be able to finish in time. Now, if we didn’t had that issue in Tuesday, we would’ve been able to finish sooner, and have time to smooth out the video, but we didn’t.
