My grandpa loved eating with other people. No matter the food or how much he liked it he would always have a smile on his face. It killed him having to go to the nursing home but he would always schedule times where he could eat with us as a family.

We would add pictures of us eating as a family or pictures of him doing his favorite things. We would have traditional foods spread all over such as hot dogs or soup. They were his favorite things and he would always want to share them with us.

We celebrate la ofrenda by dressing up as the dead. We mock the dead to show that we are not afraid of it. Its most commonly celebrated by the alters of people who have passed. Doing this and providing food for them is a chance to be with the people who have passed one last time.
