In this Ted Talk video, Ms. Ngozi explains to us that by only sharing a single story, people are unable to formulate different opinions based on different perspectives from what actually occurred. I believe that with the practice of communal storytelling, one should be able to express any details that have been omitted throughout the story to prevent misinformation from being spread. However, I believe that during these practices, it should involve people writing down their thoughts rather than completely interrupting from the story being told. Once the person completely finishes the story, there should be a debrief about any important facts, questions, details, or information that was omitted. This strengthens life events from being shared with the rest of the world. Hence, why I chose to use this picture of this woman explaining a story to a group of children and adults. I might be speaking for just myself but I feel like we might put what others have to say about our own future more than what we have to say in our own.
