On this day, the children search the eggs hidden in the garden or the house.
At breakfast, many people do "Eiertitschen". It's a little game, where two players hold one egg each and the first player hits his own egg against the one of the other player. Whose eggshell breaks first, loses.
Another tradition is the Easter Lamb. It's a pastry in the form of a little lamb and the people eat it on easter.
In the night of Easter, some communities do an Easter Fire. It stands for the sun and a good harvest.

   Between 24 December and 6 January, what we know as Christmas is celebrated throughout Spain. They are a few days in which one seeks, above all, happiness, joy and family harmony.
 
 It is a time that mixes religious traditions with pagan traditions. December 25 is Christmas Day par excellence, which has its origin in the birth of the Child Jesus according to Catholic tradition. On the other hand, 31 December is New Year’s Eve, the farewell of the coming year and the welcome of the new year. But since the holidays don’t end here, January 6th is the day of the Three Wise Men.
 
 On the 24th, Christmas Eve is celebrated, a generally family celebration. Normally, all members of the same family gather that night around a copious dinner.
 
 It’s the night Santa brings gifts to everyone who’s been good.
 
 
 Despite the copious Christmas Eve dinner, Christmas Day brings the family back together for lunch, but not like the night before. Especially in families where there are small children, this day is used to share the gifts that Santa Claus has left in each of the houses. The streets are filled with children testing their skates or new bikes and radio-controlled cars.
 
 
 From Christmas to the end of the year there is still time to celebrate more festivities. December 28 is the day of the Holy Innocents.  It is another Catholic tradition that has adapted to the society of our times. Currently, that day is the one used in Spain to play small jokes or innocents to the people around. On that day, whatever you hear and whatever you see, it’s probably not true and someone’s pulling your leg.
 
 And finally, we arrive at 31 December, the last day of the year. While Christmas Eve is a fundamentally family holiday, New Year’s Eve is to be celebrated with friends.
 
 January 5th is a very nervous day for the smallest of the houses. During the whole afternoon, in each city go out to parade the great floats of the cavalcades in which, in addition to musicians, artists or people in disguise, there are the Three Kings alluding to all the children of the city. After the horseback riding, the families return home so the children can eat soon and leave their shoes freshly cleaned in the living room. Only this way, during the early morning hours, the Three Wise Men will be able to get to the house and know where to leave the gifts of each of the family members.

From the zero kilometer of the capital there are the bells heard by the Spanish during the last 12 seconds of the year. In that central square, up to 20,000 people meet who defy the cold, the wind, the rain and even the snow.
Superstitions

The Spanish are convinced that it is necessary to follow a ritual to avoid bad luck in the coming year. You have to wear red underwear, as this color is related to love, passion and prosperity. In addition it is convenient to put gold in the glass with which it is going to be offered, either of champagne, wine or cava. Those who do not drink alcohol can simply bite a gold ring. When the chimes end at midnight, it is mandatory to kiss all the people around. And no less important is to enter 2020 with the right foot, to erase the bad and start the year with good feelings.

For example, we eat lentils, which are supposed to bring money and fortune. Another typical dish is cotechino, a sort of salami made with various pork pieces.

Another funny tradition is to throw out of the window old objects like plates or glasses. (attention, it can be very dangerous!!!)

We also watch and make fireworks, especially in the south of Italy.

The origins of the orange battle tells the story of a young peasant girl named Violetta, who rebuffed the advances of a ruling tyrant. She decapitated him and chaos ensued, with other villagers.
During the present-day one girl is chosen to play the role of Violetta, and dozens of aranceri (orange-throwers) representing both the tyrant and the peasants throw oranges at each other.

On Easter Sunday people  celebrate  the Resurrection of Jesus from the dead. The day after is called Pasquetta (Easter Monday) and people like to spend this day with friends and doing picnics.
Italian traditions are different from region to region. For example near Brescia kids paint eggs and make little doves with the inside part of fig branches.Traditional Easter foods across Italy may include lamb or goat, artichokes and special Easter breads that vary from region to region. The Colomba (a dove-shaped cake)is often given as gifts, as are hollow chocolate eggs that usually come with a surprise inside.

Holy Week is a set of religious celebrations that takes place the last week of Lent, between Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday. The festivities commemorate the last moments of Jesus 'life: Palm Sunday is the day that Jesus' entry into Jerusalem is celebrated, Holy Thursday is the date of the Last Supper, Good Friday recalls the crucifixion, Saturday Holy is a day of mourning and, finally, on Easter Sunday the resurrection is celebrated.

During Holy Week, a variety of dishes and desserts are prepared; like cod, hornazos, torrijas, pestiños ... the last 2 are the most famous and sweet. Torrijas are a typical sweet made with bread dipped in milk, sugar and cinnamon, then fried with a little egg. Pestiños, another sweet typical of these holidays, are a mixture of flour, white wine, sesame, cinnamon, lemon or orange, oil and salt.
