The house is an old overgrown and taken over place by nature and in uninhabitable and no-one has lived there for possibly lots of years and the nature has come on her own and again and again very steathly and she won't let anyone pass

The story is based on a persons dream that is dreaming of a house called Manderley that is run down and over plants. It hasn’t had any humans in there for years.

The garden has an overgrown drive with monster shrubs and plants. The plants are dying with parasites, and dying trees, a part of the building resembles the archway of a church, and the house is inoccupied with rusting gates and no answer from the lodge keeper

Manderley is devoid of life save for the shrubbery and woodlands surrounding the area, speaking to the age and abandonment facing the house. These woodlands are described in an incredibly dark manner, using words like 'insidious'.
