> Adab is derives from the root word ادب to refine, to educate and to discipline.

> Adab refers to Islamic etiquette and entails good manners, morals and appropriate actions adopted by Islam derives from it's teaching and instruction. Adab is not just a quality, it is also a process. It is something that can be learnt and established.

> Akhlak (morality) and adab (manners) are to frequently use them to denote ethics. akhlak is moral philosophy while adab is the actual practices of morality.

Adab outward behavior that people show and akhlak the qualities that recite in the heart.

WHY IS ADAB IMPORTANT?

• Adab reflects our personality and characteristics.

• Adab can also help prevent us from falling into sins

Let's take Iblis for example, just because of his arrogance and refused to bow to Prophet Adam A.S, he was sent to hellfire.

ADAB WITH FRIENDS

• Do not joke beyond the limit

• Do not break promises

• Do not exclude friends

• Respect privacy

• Apologize and forgive each other

ADAB WITH PARENTS

• Polite

• Reprimand in a good way

• Pray for parents

• Tawadu' (do not brag)

• Tawakkal (not fighting the conversation)

> What is the appreciation for the nature?
A strong attitude toward nature indicates that a person appreciate the natural environment and values experiences with and in nature, whereas a person with a weak attitude towards nature is largely indifferent to the natural environment.

> Why should we show appreciation to nature?

The natural world is an incredible wonder that inspires us all. It underpins our economy, our society, indeed our very existence. Our forests, rivers, oceans, and soils provide us with the food we eat, the air we breathe, the water we irrigate our crops with.

SUSTAINABILITY IN ISLAM

Allah created a perfectly balance world on the basis of sustainability and circularity.  this balance must be maintained by man acting moderately thoughtfully and justly. waste, pollution and destruction are the very qualities that Allah abhors.

Islamic values urge all humans to develop, use and manage natural resources in a sustainable manner. humans are viewed as trustees (khalifah) who are responsible for making sure that all resources are use in a sustainable manner.

CONCLUSION

We as human must appreciate what Allah S.W.T has given to us in this world. Nature as rezeki that's why we can eat food and farming. Allah S.W.T has given us responsibility to take care of nature and environment. So, don't be too extra with what we want to do e.g cut down trees until the forest becomes bald. As trustees (khalifah), we must take the responsibility to take care everything Allah S.W.T has given to us.

> Definition of hikmah

• Fear of God

Hikmah adalah harta kepunyaan mukmin dan kalau kita jumpa kita berhak keatasnya.

HOW TO SET A RIGHT NIYYAH

• Sincerity - One should perform the act of worship solely for the sake of Allah SWT and not for any other reason.

• Purity of intention - One should make sure that their intention is pure and free from any ulterior motives.

• Clarity - One should be clear about what they intend to do and why they intend to do it.

• Focus - One should focus on the act of worship and avoid any distractions.

• Consistency - One should make sure that their intention remains consistent throughout the act of worship.

DEFINITION OF AMAL

• In Islam, amal refers to the practice of performing good deeds and acts of worship.

• To apply the right amal, one should strive to perform acts of worship and good deeds with sincerity and devotion.

• One should strive to perform acts of worship and good deeds consistently, rather than sporadically.

EHSAN

• Awareness - One should become aware of the Ehsan and their importance in Islam.

• Understanding - One should develop an understanding of the Ehsan and what they look like when they are lived.

• Action - One should strive to practice the Ehsan in their daily life.

• Reflection - One should reflect on their actions and evaluate whether they are living up to the Ehsan.

• Acquisition - Over time, one can acquire the Ehsan and make them a part of their character and way of life.

أَحْسَنَ اللهُ إِلَيكَ

May Allah reward you with good things.

• A condition (sharat) is something that is required before the commencement of prayer in order for it to be valid

• The pillars (arkaan) are that which if one fails to perform any of them out of forgetfulness or intentionally, his prayer is rendered invalid because of his abandoning it.

• The requirements (waajibaat) are that which if one fails to perform any of them intentionally, his prayer is rendered invalid due to his abandoning it, but if he leaves any of them due to forgetfulness, he is obligated to perform the (extra) prostrations for forgetfulness.

لَا يُكَلِّفُ ٱللَّهُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا وُسْعَهَا ۚ

Allah does not place a burden on a soul more than it can bear.

(Al-Baqarah 2:286)

THE 9 CONDITIONS OF THE PRAYER

1. One must be Muslim

2. He must be sane and conscious

3. He must be of the age of maturity

4. He must have wudoo (ablution) and have taken ghusl if necessary

5. There must be no impurities on his body, clothes or place of prayer

6. He must cover his ‘awrah.

7. It must be the right time for the prayer he is performing

8. His entire body must be facing the Qiblah.

9. He must have the intention for the prayer in his heart

THE 14 PILLARS OF THE PRAYER

1. Standing, if one has the ability to do so

2. The opening Takbeer

3. Reciting Surah Al-Faatihah in every rak’ah

4. Bowing

5. Rising from Bowing

6. Prostrating on all seven limbs

7. Erecting oneself from it

8. Sitting between the two prostrations

9. Remaining tranquil (i.e. not rushing) during all of these pillars)

10. Maintaining the same Sequence

11. The final Tashahhud

12. Sitting during the Tashahhud

13. Sending Salaat on the Prophet

14. The (final) two Tasleems

THE 8 REQUIREMENTS OF THE PRAYER

1. All the takbeers except the opening one

2. Saying «Subhaana Rabby al-‘Adheem» when bowing

3. Saying «Sami’a Allaahu Liman Hamidahu» – This applies to the one leading the prayer and the one praying alone

4. Saying «Rabbanaa wa Lakal-Hamd» – this applies to everyone praying

5. Saying «Subhaana Rabby al-A’alaa» when prostrating

6. Saying «Rabb Ighfir Lee» while in between the two prostrations

7. The first Tashahhud

8. Sitting during the first Tashahhud.

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ كُتِبَ عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلصِّيَامُ كَمَا كُتِبَ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَّقُونَ

O believers! Fasting is prescribed for you—as it was for those before you¹—so perhaps you will become mindful ˹of Allah˺.

Surah Al-Baqarah (2:183)

FASTING BUILDS PIETY

• Educating us to abandon lustful desires even on things that have been made lawful for us before fasting.

• Fasting is the closest worship to sincerity for a servant because it is a secret between the servant and his god.

• The real success of a believer in performing the duty of fasting is to reach the level of piety.

• Marking the unity of the ummah, feeling the goodness of the month of Ramadan which is full of blessings and grace regardless of race.

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَقْرَبُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَأَنتُمْ سُكَـٰرَىٰ حَتَّىٰ تَعْلَمُوا۟ مَا تَقُولُونَ

O believers! Do not approach prayer while intoxicated¹ until you are aware of what you say

Surah An-Nisa (4:43)

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ كُتِبَ عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلصِّيَامُ كَمَا كُتِبَ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَّقُونَ

O believers! Fasting is prescribed for you—as it was for those before you¹—so perhaps you will become mindful ˹of Allah˺.

Surah Al-Baqarah (2:183)

WHAT IS TAQWA?

• God consciousness which endows the person (the Muttaqi) with the awareness of the presence of Allah in every moment of his life.

• Taqwa is to protect oneself from the punishment of Allah by avoiding his prohibitions and implementing his commands.

HOW IS SAWM TIED TO TAQWA?

Compassion and empathy for people experiencing poverty - When the fasting person tastes the pain of hunger, he becomes mindful of all those in this circumstance. This experience inspires him to do more acts of kindness and show compassion to less fortunate people.

وَإِذَا سَأَلَكَ عِبَادِى عَنِّى فَإِنِّى قَرِيبٌ ۖ أُجِيبُ دَعْوَةَ ٱلدَّاعِ إِذَا دَعَانِ ۖ فَلْيَسْتَجِيبُوا۟ لِى وَلْيُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِى لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْشُدُونَ

When My servants ask you ˹O Prophet˺ about Me: I am truly near. I respond to one’s prayer when they call upon Me. So let them respond ˹with obedience˺ to Me and believe in Me, perhaps they will be guided ˹to the Right Way˺.

Surah Al-Baqarah (2:186)

HOW DOES IT RELATE TO SABR?

• Sawm is to train the nafs to restrain itself from its desires.

• When a person fasts, he temporarily foregoes what is usually halal (eating, drinking, etc). Sawm teaches him to say "no" to his nafs and inner desires. This helps him to develop taqwa, making it easier to restrain himself from haram throughout the year.

   خُذْ مِنْ أَمْوَٰلِهِمْ صَدَقَةًۭ تُطَهِّرُهُمْ وَتُزَكِّيهِم بِهَا وَصَلِّ عَلَيْهِمْ ۖ إِنَّ صَلَوٰتَكَ سَكَنٌۭ لَّهُمْ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ ١٠٣

   Take from their wealth ˹O Prophet˺ charity to purify and bless them, and pray for them—surely your prayer is a source of comfort for them. And Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.

   Surah At-Taubah (9:103)

   
   

3. Reaching the level of goodness (Al-Birr) in the eyes of Allah SWT

   
   

   لَن تَنَالُوا۟ ٱلْبِرَّ حَتَّىٰ تُنفِقُوا۟ مِمَّا تُحِبُّونَ ۚ وَمَا تُنفِقُوا۟ مِن شَىْءٍۢ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِهِۦ عَلِيمٌۭ

   You will never achieve righteousness until you donate some of what you cherish. And whatever you give is certainly well known to Allah.

   Surah Ali-Imran (3:92)

   
   

4. Eliminate sins and mistakes

   
   

   Sabda Nabi SAW:

   والصدقةُ تُطفِيءُ الخطيئةَ كما تُطفِيءُ الماءُ النارَ

   " ...Sedekah itu dapat menghapuskan kesalahan seperti air dapat memadamkan api"

   (Hadith Riwayat Ahmad, Al Tirmizi)

   
   

5. Protecting the soul from miserliness

   
   

   وَمَن يُوقَ شُحَّ نَفْسِهِۦ فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ

   And whoever is saved from the selfishness of their own souls, it is they who are ˹truly˺ successful.

   Surah Al-Hasyr (59:9)

   
   

6. Multiplied reward by Allah SWT

   
   

   عَنْ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ، أَنَّ رَجُلاً، تَصَدَّقَ بِنَاقَةٍ مَخْطُومَةٍ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏ "‏ لَيَأْتِيَنَّ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ بِسَبْعِمِائَةِ نَاقَةٍ مَخْطُومَةٍ ‏"‏

   Dari Abu Mas'ūd raḍiyallāhu 'anhu, ia berkata, "Seorang lelaki datang kepada Nabi Muhammad ṣallallāhu 'alaihi wa sallam dengan membawa seekor unta yang sudah dikekang. Ia berkata, "Unta ini untuk di jalan Allah." Rasulullah ṣallallāhu 'alaihi wa sallam bersabda, "Dengan unta inilah maka kamu akan mendapatkan tujuh ratus ekor unta yang sudah dikekang pada hari kiamat."

   (Hadith Sahih Muslim)
