“EMERGENCY, EMERGENCY HELP IMMEDIATELY!” shouts Dr Brant. “He’s losing consciousness, turning blue, and he’s not breathing!

The way Dr Brandt shouted had the nurses running, ready to execute the back-up plan for when things go extremely wrong. Dr Brant was in shock, witnessing the freakish changes patient 002 is suffering.

You may wonder what has gone wrong? what freakish changes? Well, you are about to find out. 

Dr Brant was finishing his day, the only thing on his mind was going home. He is a tall intelligent youngish man, who had a family of his own. Married at 24, father at 25. He has four children, and a loving wife. A passionate man, especially with regards to his job. Dr Brandt is the head of immunologists, working for a company, who create vaccines. 

Before he was about to go home, he heard a patient from the testing room calling out.  “HELLLPPP, IT HURTSSSSSS, HELP ME PLS, ANYBODY!” Running quickly to the room; he immediately knew patient 002 was experiencing serious pain. Upon arrival he noticed the patient clutching at his chest with the look of “save me” in his eyes. He ran back to his office, shuffling papers looking to find notes on possible side effects and the reasoning behind 002’s painful attack. 

At this point Dr Brant had never lost a patient, after all the tests they somehow survived and this patient was not going to be the first he lost. He will do anything to keep it that way. Looking at his past disasters it’s clear that the only real chance for this patient to live is to give them a vaccine. And, his only choice was to deal out the new un-authorised vaccine. 

He thought to himself “the odds of this patient living are so low so what’s do I have to lose?” 

The patient’s reaction intrigued Dr Brant, this has never happened before. He thought it would be best if he stayed and monitored the patient. That will also give him more time to figure out what just happened. He was not sure if this was a good or bad thing.  Hours had passed and then suddenly, patient 002 got up and walked around. He seemed absolutely normal!  What a success for Dr Brant. 

He was so unbelievably surprised he returned to the patient for more testing. First of all, Dr Brant’s initial thought was to re-test patient 002 to see if he still had the virus. He seemed cured. The test came back negative within seconds. Dr Brant and patient 002 were in disbelief. How he is a normal person again, with no traces of sickness, but even more so, healthier than ever. 

As soon as the doctor turned around to talk to 002, he couldn’t believe his eyes. How dysmorphic, swollen, pale and ugly he had become! Dr Brant rushed him to testing lab and as time passed things got worse for 002 and Dr Brant. This was a matter of life or death, but for who? Patient 002 came too, no longer unconscious. It was like he rose from the dead.  Dr Brant was losing his mind, he was living a nightmare. Could it be? It was only a possibility… a very slim possibility at that. But now, he is living that possibility. Dr Brant created a monster, full of evil, a flesh eating being with no conscious. He thought that the only way to survive this destruction was to look after himself and to hide until it was all over.  

With nowhere to go, and nowhere to turn, he was surrounded by them. One by one the patients turned into this “un-dead” being, a cannibalistic monster. The creatures he had created, his dream turned to nightmare. 

From, where he was hiding he witnessed the rest of the staff running for their lives. The humans turned beasts attacked the nurses and they were being eaten alive. “It is true, I have created the worst virus in history. The ZOMBIE virus” Dr Brant alarmingly, thought.  As the nurses were getting eaten alive Dr Brant hid away hopelessly and pathetically. 

Months go by and now this world we call home has turned into ‘ZOMBIELAND’, leaving one lonely survivor, the one who caused the world to end.
