One night, in the hot, desert - like part of the savanna, the owls were singing their joyful song, while one tiny mouse was searching around on a log. Then, a minute later, the mouse heard the screeching of owl talons right above him! The mouse dove into the log right before the owl caught him. He went out through the other side of the log, out of the trunk, and into the grass. He ran and ran, making sure he lost the owl. When he felt safe, he decided to rest a huge, soft rock.

Except, it wasn’t a rock, it was a lion!!! The lion growled as he held the mouse hostage in his huge, yellow claws. The mouse squeaked in horror. Then suddenly, the lion held up the mouse, set him down on the ground, and the mouse went back to his home, where baby mice were waiting for him. The lion watched gleefully as the mouse went home, then lay down. Meanwhile, far out in the savanna, two hunters were setting up a trap near the forest. As the lion walked through, he didn’t notice the trap, he tripped over the rope, and got caught in the net! The lion ROAAARRRRRRRED, all the way across the savanna, just loud enough for the mouse to hear!

The mouse landed on the net that the lion had gotten caught in, and started biting at the ropes to try to loosen it. After doing that knot, he did the next, then the next, then the next after that, until all of the ropes had been nibbled away. The lion fell out of the net and onto the ground with a plop!
