Volunteers

• Assist in setting up space for programme

Tasek Academy and Social Services provides intensive year-round academic and non-academic programmes and mentoring for children and youth, support for their families, and assistance for ex-offenders.

Role:

• Provide academic coaching for primary and/or secondary school beneficiaries who require additional support. It will be conducted in a small group format (1:1 or 1:2)

Commitment:

• Once a week or twice a week

When:

• Wednesday and/or Thursday

• 7.30pm to 9pm 

Where:

• Taman Jurong CC Level 3 or 4

Childminding Program aims to remove potential barrier that DOT women may face in attending DOTs program such as caregiving by providing Childminding services on site. 

This allows clients to attend DOT's programs (Mainly DOT's Confidence Curriculum & IT courses) with ease.

Role:

• Childminder: Take care and engage the children through activities (e.g Art and Crafts) while their mothers are attending DOT’s program 

Requirements:

• 1) 18 and above, 2) Love working with children and have some experience, 3) Attend Childminding training Workshop

Commitment:

• 1 - 4 times a month dependent on program schedule

• Engage and befriend youth before or after football programme and determine areas of support – academics, career guidance, socio-emotional skills. As a mentor, work with Tasek staff to implement strategies to help them develop skills sets to meet their needs.

• At least twice a month

NTUC Health Co-operative Limited (NTUC Health) is a  NTUC social enterprise that provides a comprehensive and integrated suite of quality and affordable health and elderly care services to meet the growing needs of families and their dependents. 

Role:

• Facilitate games, exercises and craft activities to brighten up the lives of the seniors 

Commitment:

• At least twice a month

Fun with Friends is a programme by NTUC Health Active Ageing Hub, designed specifically for seniors with mild cognitive impairment or mild dementia, to help improve their mental and physical functions

Role:

Assist occupational therapists who runs the programme (e.g music therapy, physical exercises, meal preparation),  and engage with the seniors to encourage active participation in the programme

Meals-on-Wheels (MOW) is a meal delivery program by TOUCH Home Care (THC) dedicated to meeting the daily needs of home-bound elderly and elderly living alone. These seniors rely on the generosity and support of volunteers like you to receive their meals each day. 

Role:

• As a MOW volunteer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our seniors have nourishing meals to look forward to daily. Your small act of kindness can make a world of difference to them. 

Commitment:

• Once a week

TOUCH Home Care provides specialised transportation for the frail elderly to their medical appointment at the polyclinics and hospitals. 

Role:

• Volunteers will accompany TOUCH clients (mainly elderly), usually wheelchair bound, for their hospital check-ups and ferrying them to the different parts of the hospital. Training will be provided. Volunteers need to be comfortable with speaking to and handling elderly. 

When:

• a) Minimally half day on weekday on weekly/monthly basis and,

• b) Committed to regular volunteering (priority will be given to those who can commit for a minimum of 3 months)

Mutual Help & Care Ration Packing is a program by Bo Tien Welfare Services Society that serve and reach out to the destitute & low-income families by providing them with food ration to assist their financial hardship. 

Role:

• Food packing for destitute & low-income families

• Able to handle bulky items

Commitment:

• Minimum once a week for around 6 months (can try out for one slot)

When:
