I want to focus primarily on utilizing lots of colours in my works this year (most likely digitally) and having messages and meanings behind my works. I also want to try out some environmental storytelling, be intentional with my choices of composition as well as learn how to draw digitally. There is an art style of digital art I want to explore, where the artist uses almost no black or white and instead fills up the digital canvas with many bright colours. This art style is quite bold and is something I've been interested in trying for a while because it's so different from the traditional drawings I do on paper. I also think exploring and trying out this art style would improve how I draw people and develop my personal style. It will also push me to step outside the zone of techniques I am more familiar with and automatically lean towards using. I want to start by focusing on using vibrant colours in my work and slowly expanding to my other goals throughout the semester/year. I have narrowed it down to three artists who use many colours in their works: akiakane, Mika Pikazo, AidaIro. While I practice with drawing digitally and using vibrant colours, I will also practice creating compositions with strong messaging through the use of surrealism.
