First, there is no denying that technology has transformed how we access knowledge.

Platforms like Google, YouTube, and online libraries put an infinite amount of information at our fingertips. For someone like me, however, knowing how to find and filter this information is not as easy as it sounds. Many times, I find myself overwhelmed by the sheer number of search results or accidentally clicking on irrelevant links. Despite this, I appreciate how technology lets me explore topics beyond the confines of textbooks. It’s just that I often need guidance—whether from a tech-savvy friend or a helpful teacher—to make sense of it all.

Another area where technology shines is in collaboration. Tools like Google Docs and Zoom make it easier to work on group projects, even if my classmates and I are miles apart. Yet, these tools come with challenges for someone like me. For instance, I have a hard time keeping track of which button to press during a Zoom meeting or how to properly format a document in Google Docs. Sometimes, I accidentally delete important sections, causing frustration for everyone involved. Thankfully, my groupmates are often patient, and I’m learning to ask for help when I need it.

Perhaps the most valuable aspect of technology in schooling is the flexibility it provides. Online classes and recorded lectures mean I can review lessons at my own pace, which is a blessing for a slow learner like me.

But technical issues—like a frozen screen or a confusing interface—can make this flexibility feel more like a test of patience than a convenience. I remember once struggling for hours to upload an assignment because I couldn’t figure out the submission portal. It was a stressful experience, but it taught me the importance of persistence and seeking support when faced with challenges.

Despite my struggles, I can see that technology is not my enemy; it’s a tool that requires time and effort to master.

Each mistake I make—whether it’s sending an email to the wrong recipient or accidentally exiting an online quiz—is a chance to learn and grow. With every small victory, like successfully sharing a file or navigating a new app, I gain more confidence in my ability to adapt to this digital age.
