This relates to teenagers because there is a lot of bullying around today.
2. "You may shoot me with your words,

You may cut me with your eyes,

You may kill me with your hatefulness,

But still, like air, I’ll rise." This relates to teenagers because people always are saying bad things about other people and you have to learn how to deal with that and not care.
3. The first paragraph makes his tone because she is saying that no matter what other people are going to say about them that they are powerful and will rise above.

1."Does my sassiness upset you?
Why are you beset with gloom?
‘Cause I walk like I’ve got oil wells
Pumping in my living room." This can be related to teenagers, especially teenage girls because when a girl becomes confident there will always be people trying to tear them down .
2. "You may shoot me with your words,You may cut me with your eyes,You may kill me with your hatefulness,
But still, like air, I’ll rise." This relates to teenagers because there are people out there who will try everything to stop you or terrorize your life. You have to stay strong and brush off what they say or do, and strive to be successful.
3. The author's tone in the poem was full of confidence and being strong. She was expressing that no matter what that she was going to rise, and prove doubters wrong.

The first part relates because some people are very envious of those around them, be it who they are or what they have. The second quote from this relates because if those people that are envious feel strongly enough then they will go as far as tearing others down and bullying them. By saying things such as "You may kill me with your hatefulness,
But still, like air, I’ll rise." the author develops a strong tone of empowerment and confidence.

The second stanza and the fourth stanza speak to me. In the second stanza it speaks of acting like you have all of the wealth in the world. The woman writing this is obviously strong and is trying to assert that, while she may not live in luxury, she has what she deems important in life. In the fourth stanza she asks if this person wanted to see her in utter defeat. She asks if they wanted to see her spirit gone away. In this she is saying she will not be beaten and broken and the person will not have the satisfaction of seeing her give up. These things speak to me because so many times the world wants us to deem money important and wants to see us beaten into submission. It's hard to stand your ground and be strong when the world tells you not to. You see this attitude of being strong throughout the poem as she stands for what she believes in.
