About a third of Uganda's economy is agriculture, which consists mostly of coffee revenue. Uganda also contains many other natural resources, good soil, regular rainfall, deposits of copper, and ect. This does limit the trade force of Uganda but it still has a strong economy.

These include Lake Victoria, which about half of its area lies in Uganda, as well as many rivers one being the Katonga River. These fresh water sources help with agriculture in the area.

Empires: The Buganda, Bunyoro, and the Ankole dynasties were founded in the 1500s by Nilotic-speaking immigrants from Sudan. Buganda was the largest with trade though.

Imperialism: The reason why the British were interested in Uganda was that they wanted to find the source of the Nile. During 1877 the Kabaka requested British mercenaries to Buganda. During 1885 Uganda was given to Britain during the Berlin Conference. Due to the added cotton plantations made by the British and this grew the economy. This also led to people in Uganda buying imported goods such as cloth, metal, and cars. Also, an increase in education in the area has increased. British would use Ugandans for warfare, and the exploitation of land caused there to be less fertile land making it more challenging to grow crops.

<sup>
</sup>

Uganda over the past century has had many different people lead them and most of these governments were either overthrown by the people or other politicians. Uganda today is a presidential republic government type. Uganda's president is Yoweri Museveni who was elected for another 5 year term in February 2016. Special forces fought with tribal king Charles, which resulted in the deaths of many people. Also in around 1970s-1990s Uganda had many political overthrows either by politicians or by the people, an example of this is the Lord Resistance Army when they began to rebel against the government during the 1980s. However now a days Uganda is a safe place with little conflict for the most part, and the countries outlook for the future looks good especially in its agriculture.

Uganda gained its independence on October 9, 1962 in a very peculiar fashion. The British and the Ugandan's had some conflicts with representation in government, but in the 1960 during the London Conference Britain decided to give Uganda the right to have elections, which ultimately gave them independence.
