Within the first few chapters it talks about the Island they are at and explains what's going on but from reading this book for the first time seems as if the book was written for teens (as far as the age of characters goes) 2 are twins they are all 14being a high concept fantasy thriller. Instead of a day being 24 hours in the book the sunrise comes every 28 years only a slight sliver of light is along the horizon.

Throughout the first few chapters, there is a type of threat that comes out at nighttime on the island and people would leave to avoid it but it is unknown and makes you wonder what it is could be a ghost, animal, alien, creature, etc.

There are rules on the island for example when they leave they have to leave it exactly how they left it as if another force is on the island, throughout the night it also gets colder and colder. but throughout the book and after getting towards the middle I didn't end up liking it but the "horror" was there but seemed as if it faded while the characters were still frightened just because how it started to turn out towards the end.

Some of the dialogue and text throughout the book seemed to be kind of weird but kind of understood what the authors were trying to go to but part of the dialogue throughout the book that made it weird was how the characters would interact with the only mother in the book. And it seemed as if the "teens" in the story were different to the teens in real life just based off of how they would talk.

Throughout the book, they had found out some secrets that were pretty big and because of that they were all in the race to survive and to get off the Island, They don't know who to trust and figure out who to trust to help them get off the Island they had to find their missing friend first before they had left but because of this the ships have left and they were left on their own to survive and make it out.

Sometimes throughout the book it seemed like it was moving too fast as in it would jump from one place to another and there wasn't quit a clean transition to other places but throughout the book it was talking about certain places such as the dessert lands and in the book it didn't quit explain what it was and I didn't get to see them and throughout the book is was as if the story went all over the place. Almost as like each write had his own story line and they compromised by putting everything instead of editing out the mediocre, bits.

With there being two writers there wasn't much editing it seems instead of being able to see each character it was very shallow couldn't see their emotions, motivations, thinking, and feeling I didn't get that enough from the book but I think that the authors could've done a better job at editing or at least have chapters about each character because I would've liked to get to know them but couldn't didn't have enough time nor information regarding them, for example, there was some tension between characters and they were arguing and then out of nowhere they resolved it out within a chapter but felt like the authors could've made it last more longer than a single chapter it was set up very well though but it didn't quite deliver it to that point based off what I got, by that I mean it just left me disappointed.

I think this book would've been better off as a horror movie because the story didn't quit feel invested after like 100 pages but I didn't quit like the book but it was a cool story and a cool concept was creepy and there was monsters and many places but it didn't quite give out some detail of some places or who was there such as the desert lands I would recommend this book if you like creepy stories and like being in the woods as night because there is also a forest in the story but they aren't allowed in the forest or if you like something always lurking around the corner.

This book left me at a cliffhanger as if there was another sequel but I don't think I'd read another book just because this book was like a one time read for me and I would recommend it maybe read it again from another point of view but just that it was kind of poorly edited because like I said before it was poorly edited as if they just threw in everything and each other was trying to do different thing and they just didn't quite make sense but I think this book would've been more interesting if I was 13. It was scary though had me guessing wondering what was going to happen but just think they could've done a better job at editing things and giving more detail to the people of the story and showing us more areas on the island I wouldn't read this book again but if there was nothing else I would but overall this book was okay I would say just wish it could've been written better.
