"Increased risk of cancer and degenerative diseases, such as heart disease and cataracts, have been observed in human populations exposed to radiation on Earth. Health risks for astronauts from radiation exposure in space are mainly driven by long-term impacts."
  Even if this all happens to astronauts when they went to space we also would not have the technology to help them and find ways to stop this from happening. Also they go to space and look for new technology to find and stop cancer and diseases like heart diseases.

Like using a GPS for example before GPS there where maps. Now that we have our phones that are make from space exploration we have a faster way to travel to places because it tells you the correct and fastest way to where ever your going. Also another thing like our internet at first when they first found it out it was slow didn't really work that good now that we invested money to NASA they found a way to make it better and to make there satellites better and out connection better. This also leads me into my next point when we are texting our friends or family and you wait a couple seconds before it says delivered that's because the text has to go through the satellite that NASA made for us to be able to stay connected with our friends.
