In the book this represents the start of Katniss' adventure in the hunger games. In the book she is taken into custody after she volunteers to be in the Hunger Games. After they took her into custody they brought her to a train. The train is where she is staying and how she is getting to the capital for the games. "The speed initially takes my breath away,"(47 Collins). The train takes off quickly and keeps going just like Katniss's adventure throughout the story. This was also her first time on the train so it was a new adventure in itself. The start of her adventure is really important to the story because everything happened in the span of an hour. Just like that she was in a life or death situation and could not get out of it. This makes the start of her adventure and the start of the train very similar in the fact that it all happens so suddenly when you don't expect it. 

The second object I chose is fire. In the book the tributes who are going to the hunger games have to dress up like something that represents their district. Usually the tribute from district 12 dress up like coal miners.  This time the stylist Cinna had a new vision for the tributes, "You're not afraid of fire, are you, Katniss," (Collins 67). These new ideas and changes represent to me a new life or change for Katniss, her district and her life. This represents a new chapter because the stylists are turning to a new chapter for district 12 and have new ideas. I think Katniss is going through the same thing.  She is in a new place, experiencing new things and taking a once in a lifetime opportunity that could turn out really good or really bad. These new experiences are very different from her normal life. This is also a change in direction for district 12 and Katniss. This is showing change in the way things have been going for both. Change and new things can be bad and good. Fire is representing new things happening in her life and a change occurring.
