This sport was very important to me and taught me a ton of life lessons, such as discipline, good sportsmanship and mostly- to never give up. Being a woman in this sport in my generation was almost unheard of, I always felt like I needed to work 10x harder to show that I was worthy.

I have worked for UPS for over 25 years and the biggest thing that I have had my focus on is my retirement savings. I tell my kids all the time that when I retire I am buying a boat and traveling to Alaska for a few years. Start young and live under your means, these have been the keys things I did to be sure that my savings was stacking up. Also, invest in stocks. Even if you're not sure what they mean, do some research and invest. Like I said before one of my favorite things to do is travel to concerts with my friends. I actually just went to the Metallica concert in Phoenix the beginning of this month and I had a BLAST!! I feel like without these experiences, I wouldn't have been able to meet new people and ultimately just enjoy my favorite things in life. Music has brought me to tons of beautiful places and has been able to keep my mental state focused and sane, especially with my job as a UPS driver.

Being a single mom of three boys, needless to say things were not easy. And although I worked hard to provide for my boys, I was ALWAYS working. As they got older, this became a point of resentment for them in a way. Even though I was able to always buy them everything they wanted, they just wanted my time. Over the last 6 months - I have started to get on a more healthy path, but prior to that I was struggling with being overweight and even impending health concerns. This really worried me, not only because I have 6 grandkids that I want to see grow old but because I was feeling like I was getting more and more unhealthy by the day. Due to that, I got on a very restrictive diet and was obedient and consistent with it. I have lost over 40 pounds in the process and I can't believe how good I feel again. 63 years old and still head banging at a Metallica concert.
