Generally speaking, a good citizen is someone who has "good" characteristics. While the ideals of what a "good" characteristic is vary depending on the person you ask, it is close to unanimously agreeable that a good person is kind, respectful, mature, and above else, responsible. Contributing or participating in your community is an effective way to show good citizenship. Along with this, being considerate of others in your community (specifically those who need more assistance, like elderly individuals or adolescence) can also show good citizenship. Being a good citizen doesn't mean being a perfect person, but rather an individual who is thoughtful and socially aware.
