I am both objectified and expected to act in masculine ways.

I have to fight against my own subconscious thoughts - created by structural racism and sexism.

My role models are mostly white men. Do I belong?

In high school, when we are put into breakout groups, we are reminded of the importance of hearing everyones thoughts and being respectful of what people are sharing. One of the main ways we make sure to respect and include everyones opinions is by having a facilitator who makes sure that everyone in the group has the opportunity to share.
