This picture relates to the reading "The Social Construction of Gender", by Judith Lorbers. This reading talks about how gender is created by society, not something inherent that we are born with. I chose this picture to represent that as this is a picture of me in Kindergarten with my two friends at a hockey game. You can start by looking at our outfits, a hockey jersey, a mario shirt, and a skateboarding brand jacket. These are all things expected to be worn by boys, and these are the outfits our fathers and mothers chose for us to wear, making us look like boys our age. Then there is the place we are at, a hockey game. Boys are traditionally taught to love sports as it is apart of being a boy, and this further proves that.

This picture also relates to the reading, "The Social Construction of Gender", by Judith Lorbers. I remember taking this pitcure, it was halloween of I believe first grade. I was going as Pikachu, a character from the Pokemon series. This relates to the reading as Pokemon is a series that, while nowadays is more neutral in terms of gender preference, was thought to be for boys. In the Pokemon games and shows, trainers battle using the pokemon they catch, something though to be enjoyed by boys, thus creating the idea of the gender identity of a boy in my mind from even when I was young.

This picture relates to the article that Pascoe wrote, "Dude, You're a Fag"(2011). This article talks about how Males will do everything in their power to not be deemed a "fag" by their peers. Males want to be deemed as men, and will do everything in their power for that. This picture of me and my sister relates to that as I am doing things stereotypical of being a man. I am not showing an abundance of emotion on my face, and my outfit is plain and bare. These are all traits seen in the stereotypical main. You can also look at my pose/stance in the picture, it is not overtly happy or expressive, rather a neutral stance that doesn't reveal a whole lot.

This picture is also relating to the article that Pascoe wrote, "Dude, You're a Fag"(2011). I took this picture to post in my Instagram, but ultimately decided not to post this one. I remember my intentions for this pose and the type of picture, I wanted to not show my face, but rather my outfit which was simple, but reflected a certain style. I also wanted a bare background to accompany it as it would highlight myself in the frame. My intentions for this picture relate to the article the most, wanting to show a lack of emotion and not myself, but rather what was on me.

This picture relates to the article "The Invention of Heterosexuality"(2001), by J. Katz. The article talks about how heterosexuality has become the standard for all of the world. This image of my girlfriend and I represents these ideas to the tea. We are a heterosexual couple , just like the other couples we know in our lives. In both of our families, there is only one person who is attracted to the same gender, which goes to show the standard that is heterosexuality.
