When my brother was in high school he was on the gymnastics team. Ever since I had first watched him compete, I knew I wanted to do that. I was lucky enough to have my parents sign me up for club gymnastics and thus my career as a gymnast began. As my first ever gymnastics meet approached we had no idea what was going to happen. Being new to the sport and what was going on we did not expect much. Somehow I managed to come away after the meet having placed first on 3 events, second on the other 3 and taking first place overall. We could not believe what had happened. My parents and I would have been happy if I had only received a ribbon but I somehow managed to take much more than that. Ever since I was a child I knew I wanted to be on this team. Coming in as a freshman I was not too sure how things were going to go. I had taken a 3 year break all though middle school to do wrestling. To my surprise I started getting my skills back rather quickly and was able to make the varsity team. I have only progressed and had many more amazing experiences thanks to joining this team.
