One reason Champlain became a explorer is because he was in many wars. Samuel De Champlain had grown up by an ocean. When he grew up he wanted to travel. King Henry IV paid for his journey. He left for his journey in the summer of 1605. He wanted to travel because he wanted to get to Canada. He went to battle against the Iroquois and was hit in the leg with an arrow. He found land in Canada His journey ended in 1615. He died in his bed in the year 1635, on Christmas Day.

Hi journey ended on April 27, 1521 in the Philippines. On April 27, 1521 he got killed fighting rival tribes in Philippines.

Emperor Charles V. of Spain  helped him pay for his travels. He left for his travels in 1510, 1513, 1524, and 1528. His purpose for traveling was that he wanted to try to find Peru and explore more parts of Peru. While he was traveling, he found the Incas Indians and fought them with his army. He is famous because he helped “discover” the Pacific Ocean and he found the capital city,  Lima, Peru. His journey sadly ended when he got killed on June 26, 1541 in Lima, Peru by Almagro`s army.

Sir Francis Drake died on January 28, 1580, in Portobelo, Panama.
