I proposed to my students (aged 16) to think about saving some money for a long term expenses. They are attending a vocational school to become Chefs and many of them would like to continue and take a degree in a famous cooking school in Norhern Italy. I asked them to write down the ways of making money ( summer jobs in restaurants or baby sitting) and I suggested them to open an account to keep their money safe and not to spend it immediately. Also as a homework I asked them to visit different banks and the post office to compare their different proposals and find out which is the most convenient. They enjoyed this activity and they felt really responsible about their future and how to build it with their own energies.

Later I will ask them to transform the survey results in histogram and pie chart (Statistics). Then I will ask the school board to approve this project in relation to the amount of money we could collect. After their approval the class would collect the money and the staff of the dog pound would propose their dogs by their blog or by mail, quantifying for example how much food they can buy with the collected money. This project should continue in time to support the dog pound. It could be related to a volounteering activity given by students and their families too.
Entrepreneurship and sustainability are strictly involved in it.
With students with mental disability it's possible to work on the use of money relating to daily shopping.

In Portugal, in this school year, the Ministry of Education presented the “participatory budget of schools”, having attributed to each school an extra amount of money proportional to the number of students, and students decide want they want to do with it. Students identify what they want to improve in the place where they learn. It can be through the acquisition of goods or services necessary or convenient for the improvement of the school space, or the way in which the devices are used to improve teaching-learning processes and benefit the entire educational community. The students present proposals of how they intend to spend this money, justifying with prices and advantages of the acquisition. The proposal may not exceed the amount originally proposed. If this happens, students should tell what activities they will do to raise this extra money.
This challenge is related to economics and financial literacy and at the same time improves the quality of democracy, since, for many students, the creation of a Participatory Budget of Schools will be a first opportunity to participate in a formal process of presentation and discussion of proposals for intervention, as well as voting, with significant impacts on their training as responsible, informed and participative citizens.

Then I would elicit a saving plan for goods or activities they think eligible. There's much more to do in this field but I think I'll definitely start with these steps.

I teach in an upper secondary school (vocational for touristic services). I've read a lot of interesting lessons from colleagues, so I will present the best ideas I have thought and read below.
- A nice idea could be dividing the class in many groups and giving to each group an amount of money. Then the teacher will make some questions related to his subjects. Each group could bet some money: if the answer given is correct they earn the corrispont amount, but if it wrong they lost it.
- Elder students could organize a real event for the school (e.g. carnival party): using real money and planning all with or without the supervision of the teachers.
- Younger students can be asked about what their family has bought this week and they can divide the things in useless, not necessary and necessary.
- Another activity can be giving to each student some money and he/she has to plan a purchase (maybe a car) or an entire holiday for example (how to go there, where to sleep and to eat etc.)

Tips for Teaching Finance for Children and Teens
Contrary to many parents' beliefs, it is not necessary to wait for the child to learn mathematics so that he can begin to learn about finances. The most important lessons can be taught even before literacy. Check out some tips:

Set an example

Nothing is more important than your example so that your child learns to have a good relationship with money from an early age. If you do not have financial control, you waste your life above the salary you receive and you are always counting the cents to get the bills up, your child will understand this as normal behavior. And you want him to have a more peaceful future than you, right?

Offer the initial feature

Children and adolescents can not learn to manage their own money if they do not receive fixed amounts for it, just as in the future they will receive their wages. It is up to you to compensate your child with the initial recourse, through weekends and allowances, preferably as soon as he starts attending school. Of course, plan the values to increase them over time and encourage them to seek other forms of revenue as you mature. Starting an activity as a young apprentice during high school is an example.

Teach to invest

When paying your child's allowance, it is important to also teach him to set aside some of this money each month by investing it in some way that shows the potential for multiplication of his still small capital. As much as saving is not the most attractive investment at the moment, opening one on behalf of your child will teach you how to deposit your savings often, as well as track the income it has over time.

Value the importance of work

In addition to teaching about the importance of investments and passive income concepts, it is crucial that you show your child that work is the way to build your own capital. He needs to understand early on that studying and developing different skills is critical to determining the salary he will have in the future - and how this salary should be used in a healthy way.

Involve the expenses

It is difficult for a child to understand why their parents say so many "no" when they want to gain something new. The most efficient way of teaching you about the value of money and the priorities within a budget is to involve you in the expenses of home. Begin by taking him or her along to grocery shopping and, as he grows up, show in more detail what the monthly expenses are within the family budget.

Stimulate planning

Does your child really want a particular toy when he or she is a child? As a teenager you insist on the possibility of an exchange? These are the best times to teach about the importance of planning! At these times, do not say yes or deny at once: show the ways to save money and to raise the money needed to carry out the plan - even if you have to contribute much of the resources.

The Importance of Financial Education in Parenting

All parents want the best for their children, which often leads them to make the wrong choices when it comes to financial education. Allowing your child to have everything you want, without giving up any benefit or having to save money for it, will possibly lead you into a future of financial ruin.

ROI calculators are underrated when evaluating payment systems because many businesses focus only on transaction fees. In reality, approval rates, routing logic, and failed payment recovery can have a massive financial impact. I recently tested a payment processing roi calculator while comparing providers, and it helped visualize how orchestration platforms may increase revenue over time. Businesses handling recurring billing or cross-border payments especially benefit from analyzing the hidden costs of payment failures before choosing infrastructure partners or scaling operations internationally.
