How does this help with student achievement? Improving lesson plans and being conscientious of where the children are academically, where the curriculum maps says we are supposed to be and making sure that children are gaining knowledge at a reasonable pace. Students have an opportunity to become more engaged learners when teachers are prepared and actively teaching and involving students in their learning.

How does this help me become a more professional educator? I feel that I have more ways to try to reach students and provide effective instruction. This gives me more ways to try to keep students engaged and provide feedback. The “Maintain and Modify” really stuck out to me from the student standpoint. I’d like to hear from them and I would even ask them “Why?” The teacher reflection questions will definitely help me process how the lessons went.
