These advantages stem from having fewer moving parts, optical elements optimized for one particular focal length, and a less complicated <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lens_formula">lens formula</a> that creates fewer <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Optical_aberration">optical aberration</a> issues.
