I have never worked in a school before with this many experienced, effective, and empowering educators. The caliber of the staff here is truly unique. Most live in neighborhoods near the school and have deep roots in Nashville overall. The staff really cares about the community and the kids. The teachers are passionate about their subjects and take great pride in what they do with kids every day. The staff prioritizes social-emotional learning, knowing it is the precursor to content knowledge-building. Most teachers take on roles outside the classroom, as well, such as sports coaching, conducting the band, tutoring, and community outreach. Marshall is a snapshot, a microcosm, of what our world can and should be.
