And my contact,'I said in a small voice."(Davies 76). Eric and Briana were coming back to the dorms. Briana fell and if Eric wasn't there she would of not been able to get back up. Another example is that, "'A tombstone,'Eric finished. 'Augh!' I shrieked and pulled my hand back as though I'd touched the corpse itself."(Davies 77).
