It is okay to treat the living body as a mechanism because it is really a mechanism. For example, when we are infected by some bacteria, our body will do their mechanism to defence our body from the bacteria. It have proven that our body actually a complex mechanism.

A living body is not something that we should look down to it. There are a lot of things that a living body could do and react. For example, organs in a living body have its own functions. our body works perfectly to ensure that we are protected and can undergo everyday activities . this brings to my stand that i agree that we should treat our body as living mechanism

I think the statement 'it is ridiculous to treat the living body as a mechanism' means that we regard a living body as a working organisation or more like so machines and under faculties of activities consisting resources, products and workings. I certainly disagree to the statement as it is actually true. Our body consist of the tiniest living material called cells, and group of cells build up group of tissues and group of tissues going to build organs and organs going to work together under a system. This clearly shows that the living body is working under a beautiful and aesthetic mechanism. Even the tiniest cells in a living body has unique and specific mechanism when theyre working after certain purposes. eg; the synthesis of protein. Then just imagine when it comes to bigger purpose or bigger systems are included into the working. It clearly shows the living body is actually following certain mechanisms and working perfectly in order like machines. In conclusion. I think it is relevant to treat and regard the living body as a mechanism. We're just like machines. Our body works perfectly under beautiful systems, orders and organisations. We're given conscience, feelings, and higher iq as human species to think about this. (Huseyin)

The statement means that it is unethical and immoral to see a living body which is a person alive as an 'experiment' or 'test'.

The statement can be said as false because as if we want to find the root cause of a dying tree, then of course we inspect what is going on with the tree's branches, root or leaves. That is how it should goes for human. The formula is to find the root where the problem started. In addition, human's body are very unique as everyone has different capability such as different antibody strength and different resistancy towards specific disease..........

The statement tells us that the living body should not be perceived as a mechanism perhaps like a machine.

However, it is actually totally fine to treat the living body as a mechanism. This is because the living body itself consist of numerous mechanisms that automatically occur as to provide the most essential condition for its continuity of survival. To elucidate this point, one of the mechanism that actually exist and occur perpetually in the living body is the feedback mechanism. When the body is at the lower or upper extreme condition, for example being in the state of low blood glucose level or high blood glucose level, the body will provide the necessary feedback to mechanism to counter-react this condition in other to restore its optimal condition ; normal blood glucose level. Other extreme cases such as body temperature, blood osmotic pressure and many more are also the example to this.

Assuming living body as a mechanism is possible as a lot of our body processes work efficiently like a machine. The processes are carry out in a very mechanistic manner for example our food digestion, how our enzyme start working in every inch of our body parts such as mouth, stomach and even our small intestine. Therefore, the statement that states the living body can be treated as a mechanism is a logical opinion.
