I would've at least tried to do my best to be friends with Francisco, I can sort of get behind the other students not talking to him much because of the language barrier but even trying probably would've made Francisco feel more welcome.

I think that Francisco’s classmates were being rude to him or ignoring him because they feel that he is from the unknown, some “weird new kid” that doesn’t know English. Of course, this is unfair because it is not Francisco’s fault that he was not taught the language when he was younger. Other simple reasons could be to just make fun of him and make him feel unaccepted in the class. 
2. I would’ve made Francisco more comfortable as a new kid at the school by talking or at least trying to become his friend. Since I have the capability to actually communicate in Spanish, I’d probably start directing him on what’s going on and what he needs to understand. 
3. People may feel like it’s not gonna matter to others, especially those in authority like teachers. But the basic reason of treating someone differently could be on your perspective of them.
