I chose this picture because I believe it is showing the true functioning of plants. My understanding about plants in the environment is that plants allow animals and humans be able to live. Plants produce the oxygen that we need to breathe so they are very important to our environment and to our bodies. This picture shows how humans themselves are important towards plants and how plants are important for humans.

I chose this animation of photosynthesis because it shows all the steps of photosynthesis at one time. I think whenever learning about photosynthesis it is easier to understand whenever you can see what steps are taking place and this is what this picture is doing. I also chose this picture because the process of photosynthesis is most importantly in leaves which is the main source of our oxygen and this animation shows this process through a leave. Photosynthesis is extremely important to our environment and for people so I believe it is important that people know what photosynthesis is and that it happens through all plants. This animation teaches you the process that it takes to provide oxygen through photosynthesis.

This is a northern Maidenhair Fern, it's scientific name is a Adiantum Pedatum. Since it is a fern it belongs to the Pteridophyte land type. It is native to moist forests in northern parts of Georgia. It is known to be one the larger ferns and for their slender, black stipes. https://www.wildflower.org/plants/result.php?id_plant=ADPE

I believe the tropical rainforest biome is one that is the most in danger. As in our notes, the tropical rainforest provides more than half of the world's oxygen, so it is super important that we try to protect this biome as much as possible. However, this is not the case. This biome is touched and torn down for agriculture production and commercialism. Also recently a large portion of our rainforest was caught on fire for several days and it went unnoticed. The more that our rainforest gets torn down, the more our oxygen goes away and leads us one step closer than destroying our ecosystem.

This picture is showing one of the positive impacts that the Neolithic Revolution provided to the human population. It is showing the impact of the abundant food supply that they were receiving from the new knowledge of agriculture. This new technique allowed populations to survive in one area and not have to migrate to multiple areas in a year just to survive. This impact provided the population food that didn't need to be stored such as the food they had to hunt before learning the ways of agriculture. The impact provided people with consistent food and a consistent home.

The Third Agriculture Revolution also known as the "Green Revolution" occurred during 1940's and 1960's. It allowed the crops to increase because the machines they used were fast, reliable and very useful. The mechanization of tools were very useful to man kind and for the production of plants. However, this mechanization didn't require as much manual labor so it started to push farmers away which led to a decrease in jobs for agriculture. As said in our notes, 2% of the U.S. population works in agriculture, and part of this reason is because these machines are too expensive for a self-employed farmer to buy so they can’t compete with the companies that do have them. However, a positive would be that the foods were more enriched, pesticides were more resistant, and there was more production of plants.

I believe that the chemical from the plant Taxus Brevifolia is one of the most important chemicals from plants. This chemical is called Taxol or Paclitaxel and it is used in chemotherapy. Types of cancer chemo-therapies that it is used in is lung, ovarian and breast cancer. I believe this chemical is one of the most important ones because these types of cancers are ones that occur more often.

I chose this picture because it reminds me of how the environment used to look about 10-12 years ago. The environment back then was fresh and green as this picture shows. I believe that if our society today begins to take action about the current issues with our environment, then it may be this green and bright again. Today our environment seems cloudy and not clear like this picture and our trees/grass are definitely not this green.
