The passage in the book when Steve said to O’Brien:
«You think we’re going to win?»
and she said:
«It probably depends on what you mean by win»
Means that Steve’s attorney, O’Brien, doesn’t really believe in him, she has doubts about him.
That makes me think about a show I saw on television. There was a person who was accused of murder, but claimed she didn’t do it, but her attorney had a hard time believing him. In the end, the attorney found out that the person wasn’t guilty.

Steve is scared in jail and doesn’t get use to being there after all this time. So he decides to make a movie of his experience, because it feels like a movie to him. He called the movie MONSTER, because that is what the prosecutor called him.
