         <description><![CDATA[<p>Reminder!</p><p>When the subject of the sentence is <strong>He / She / It, </strong>we usually add <strong>-s</strong> to the end of the verb.</p><p>Example: I cook dinner.  <strong>He</strong> cook<strong>s </strong>dinner.</p><p><br></p><p>If the verb ends in <strong>s, ch, sh, z, x, or o</strong> we add<strong> -es</strong> to the end of the verb.</p><p>Example: You watch a movie.</p><p>                 <strong>She</strong> watch<strong>es</strong> a movie.</p><p><br></p><p>If the verb ends in <strong>a consonant + y</strong> we drop the <strong>y</strong> then add<strong> -ies</strong> to the end of the verb.</p><p>Example: We cry when we are sad.</p><p>                 <strong>It</strong> cr<strong>ies </strong>when it is sad.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>What is the <strong>Past Simple</strong>? </p><p>We use the past simple to talk about something that already happened. </p><p>Example: Yesterday, I played soccer. </p><p>  </p><p>How to Make Regular Verbs Past Tense </p><p>Just add -ed to the verb! </p><p>✅ Rule 1: Just add -ed </p><p>For most verbs: </p><p>•	play → played </p><p>•	jump → jumped </p><p>•	clean → cleaned </p><p>  </p><p>✅ Rule 2: Verbs ending in e, just add -d </p><p>•	love → loved </p><p>•	dance → danced </p><p>•	live → lived </p><p>  </p><p>✅ Rule 3: Verbs ending in a consonant + y → change y to i and add -ed </p><p>•	cry → cried </p><p>•	hurry → hurried </p><p>But: play → played (because it ends in a vowel + y) </p><p>  </p><p>✅ Rule 4: Short verbs (CVC pattern) → double the last letter + ed </p><p>If the verb has 1 syllable, ends in consonant–vowel–consonant (CVC), double the last letter: </p><p>•	stop → stopped </p><p>•	hop → hopped </p><p>•	plan → planned </p><p>Not: need → needed (not CVC) </p><p>  </p><p>Examples in Sentences </p><p>•	I walked to school yesterday. </p><p>•	She loved the movie. </p><p>•	He cried after the story. </p><p>•	We hopped in the game. </p><p>  </p><p>Practice Activity: Fill in the Blank </p><p>Word Bank: play, love, stop, cry, bake </p><p>Change each verb to the past tense and complete the sentence: </p><p>1.
