How and why did your family come to the United States?

My Parents planned to come to America because on the island they didn't have enough money since the rating isn't enough to raise a family at the time. My mother and elder sister went to New Zealand to go live with a family member while my dad went to find a job in California (All happened in 2006). Soon after my dad earned enough my mom and older sister moved to America to meet up with my dad.

What were the obstacles that they met?

My parents moved to America so they could earn enough money to raise my family because where they lived at the time did not have a high rating to raise a family. So my dad moved to America to find a job and save money while my mom and my old sister went to New Zealand and lived there until my dad got enough money for them to come to California. This was the only obstacles my parents had to face

What was going on Historically in the U.S. during this time and did it affect your family?

In the U.S there was nothing Historically happening. Although there was Hurricane Katrina that had happened the year before my parents came to America so they were pretty much safe since they didn't come to the U.S till 2006
