Well done, artists!) The Collegeboard offers 3 Studio Art & Design exams; our SHS students entered exams in all 3 this year: (3) Drawing, (1) 2D Design and (1) 3D Design. Working with SHS art teacher, Julie Hickey, as their AP Art teacher, each of the 6 students prepared their portfolio exam. All 3 exams have the same basic structure consisting of two major portfolio sections. One section is called “Sustained Investigation” and consists of 15 images of original artwork(and/or evidence of art practice) along with a written statement explaining the central ideas identified by the artist as his/her guiding questions in the making of this original work. The other section is called the Selected Works section which consists of 5 individual "best works" as stand alone pieces. The selected works may or may not appear in the Sustained Investigation as well.
