Weaker output signal. Fragile. Are used for cymbals, bass, piano, guitars, and brass.
Condenser: 2 plates, 1 moves as diaphram. Can react quickly. Fav for vocals. Require power to operate. Same as ribbon with strings and vocals included.

Need good shape guitar for good recording. Get new strings.
In tune as well. Find Ambiance.
I like it with reverb. Put mic 12 inches up, point toward finger nails to get pick.
Place the mic at upper edge higher to avoid a boom effect but still get thick low end. Also avoid sounds reflections.
More bass response closer to sound (proximity effect). And less reverb and ambiance, more direct sound. Mic between bride and players right hand captures less string noise. Lower for more soundboard. I like the Neumann TLM 103 for its full sound.

I chose vocal distortion as the unique effect I wanted to look into.

I made this selection because I have always thought that distorted vocals sound cool, and especially like it as Kanye has used it, especially on songs like Runaway and New Slaves.

Explanation of video: Youtuber Gunsoww uses the pitcher and hardcore plugins. He first adds the pitcher plugin onto the vocal track. He says tune and scale are up to the user. Next he adds a hardcore. Next, he turns the volume down and removes reverb. He also adjusts the reverb. Next, he messed around with the distortion settings, and recommended leaving the "attack" at 95%. After that, the process was done and he had created a Kanye West style auto-tuned guitar sounding distortion for vocals. He goes on to say the pitch correction, or auto-tune, is optional of course if you can actually sing, but it does also add to the sound and makes it more similar to Kanye.

- I think I will produce an original song, probably something in the vein of experimental, cloud rap, or electronic, or a combination of all of those genres.

- Because I don't play any instruments, most of my work will mostly be samples and drums in the DAW, but I will probably record vocals and may even rap over it.

- I may perform some vocals or rap over the entire thing depending on how things pan out. Most of it will be the performances of others in terms of the samples I use.

- I plan on taking some sort of dreamy or ethereal sample from someone like Clams Casino, manipulating it with effects, and maybe combining it with a different sample I can find and really like. If I can find a way to use something from Skrillex or Deathgrips and combine it with a Clams Casino type thing I would be very happy.

1. Guitar - Overdriven Power Chord

Available in bandlab

For strengths, you have some good options, like octave, reverb, and pan. A weakness is that the length a cord is played is not dependent on how long you click it, you only get one length, which is kind of dissapointing.

I like it because it is jumpy and reminds me of something in video game music, and maybe rap.

2. Piano - Wurlitzer

Bandlab

This VI (Virtual instrument) has the same strengths as the guitar, but for this one the length a key plays depends on the length clicked, which makes it much more useful.

I picked this because it also sounds kinda video-gamey, and it had a funny looking name.

3. Flute - Winds

Bandlab

This VI operates the same as the other two, with the same settings, and also has length effected by time held.

I picked this because it fit the themes of the other VI's I chose, having a sort of legend of Zelda Japanese video game sort of sound. I may use some of these for my final.
