Feedback Report: NASC 165 Unit 2 — Energy and Change

In fact, this was so educational and feel good assignment. I liked learning about Energy and Change and I personally enjoyed research, practical work with multimedia.

Groups were particularly useful in that we could collaborate, distribute efforts, and teach each other. Working with my partner, we could share the burden of work and the quality of work improved.

So one thing I liked, that was the Padlet format, it was creative for sharing out the information and I liked how we could add media, like a video, an image and a song. My electrical circuit experiment was a highlight too; it made the concept practical and hands-on.

In general, I thought that this assignment was fun and informative. It allowed me to gain both scientific knowledge and teamwork skills, and also I would absolutely love to do more projects like it in the future!

Feedback Report: NASC 165 Unit 2 — Energy and Change

This task was interesting. It has allowed me to develop extra research skills and find extra fun ways to implement in my future lesson plans as a natural science educator. It was very interesting to see that when teaching natural science, it must be done correctly from the start because the basics are learned from the beginning of grade 4. The information expands more when going to the next grade.

Creating this padlet had alot of challenges and frustrations, but in the end it was a enjoyable task to learn from.

The real-time aspect of Padlet allowed us to give each other feedback and offer positive criticism, which helped us improve our content and presentation as we went along. This made our teamwork feel natural and productive because we constantly communicated and refined our work.

This made learning both exciting and meaningful, as we could connect science concepts to real-life examples while also exploring creative visuals and layouts.

Overall, this assignment showed me the value of good teamwork, creative thinking, and constructive feedback. It was a positive and enriching experience that made me appreciate the power of collaboration and the benefits of using interactive tools like Padlet in learning.

Glossary: Energy and Change

1.      Energy

Work or change the ability to do.

2.      Kinetic Energy

Energy of motion; it includes light, electrical, thermal and wind energy.

3.      Potential Energy

Energy stored such that it has the potential to do work; this includes chemical, mechanical, nuclear, and gravitational energy.

4.      Electrical Circuit

An electric circuit is a closed path through which electricity flows, including devices such as batteries, wires, and light bulbs.

5.      Renewable Energy

Solar energy, wind, and hydro energy are examples of energy from natural resources that are sustainable.

6.      Non-Renewable Energy

Fossil Fuels – Energy from sources that take millions of years to form, such as coal, oil, natural gas

7.      Energy Conservation

Polishing energy use to prevent waste and conserve resources

8.      Fossil Fuels

Fossil fuels: another name for natural fuels such as coal, oil and gas, that are formed from the remains of prehistoric plants and animals.

9.      Solar Power

Energy from the sun, harnessed with solar panels in order to produce electricity.

10.  Hydroelectric Energy

Electricity produced from moving water, typically from dams.

11.  Thermal Energy

Kinetic energy is released by the movement of particles in a substance.

12.  Work

Work = force over a distance to move an object.

13.  Motion

The displacement of an object over time.

14.  Gravitational Energy

Potential energy Stores of energy in an object because of its height above the ground

15.  Sound Energy

Energy conveyed through vibrating air particles, which enables us to hear.
