I have a vivid memory of when I was little going to your house (just me) to have like a play date with your mom. We walked around and touched all the tassels on all the lampshades in the house and ate chicken cutlets. I remember it being such a magical afternoon. Shortly after I became a mother she sent me a beautiful book about mothers and I cherish it and think about her often. Love to you!

She quoted it often. Kiki had an incredible memory and recalled many episodes in her life many conversations, strong, quotations things that really stayed with her over time.

I have such fond memories of my friend n all our trips to calico corners , antique stores, upholstery stores, picking out fabrics, looking at tassels and trim and our one famous escapade together was we went to an antique store on the Post Road and my shoulder bag swung out from me and knocked over a crystal vase which I had to pay for , $270. We did have a good laugh, but I was not a happy camper. My memories are coming to the house always redecorating moving furniture around and dad would come home that night and say let me guess. Sandee was here. We had so much fun pushing furniture around rearranging pictures , pillows all my fond memories of the day after Thanksgiving left overs , spending time with Maggie with her American girl doll just lots of fun, good food n her wonderful nieces etc, The many parties we shared at the house. I even decorated the fireplace for the holidays with candles and greenery inside the hearth , our trips to Cold spring for weekends going into town and again doing antique and looking at various artifacts for our houses also our many magazines that we used to plough through together and cut out things for each other. The veranda magazine, traditional home, such fun memories I could go on and on . Our skating trips to the rink with skating shows at Ebersole n Kiki’s non-stop trips across the Tappan Zee bridge for Christie’s skating practices. our friendship encompassed so many fashion related things, even sending me to Bloomingdale’s one day to pick out a lipstick for her when she wasn’t getting out of the house anymore. I told that story many times. I pass by the house at least once a week, several times a week and gaze up at that window on the far left in the bedroom, wishing I could still walk up the front stairs of the house , let myself in n chat away with my buddy. I can still here her infectious laugh as I am writing this. I still have the key to the front door on my keychain n cant bear to give it up. RIP my friend. I miss u every day n we were all so lucky to have u n our lives.

The first story that came to my mind was in Jan of 1990. We decided it would be a great idea if we took all the children to Vermont. Kieran was three months and Nell had just turned two. We rented two cabins on the side of a mountain surrounded by pastures on the other side. We arrived when it was dark out, had just snowed and freezing. When the heat went on the cabins shook. Thank God Christie was there and she made sure we came home with all the children . We laughed and talked , and leisurely drank our coffee. I miss my friendship with Kiki everyday. I hope she and Dory are together and laughing at all the stories.💕
