Real Life Connections: This book generally reminds me of the real life conflict with Russia and Ukraine *an ongoing event of war

What happened in this chapter?: One very important part in this chapter is when Lisa eavesdrops on her parents overhearing a serious conversation on whether her dad should continue going to his job as a doctor to treat the Germans or if he shouldn't for he could go to jail for what they thought but it would actually be a concentration camp , that's when Lisa had a risky idea, for her dad to keep going to work but to sabotage the germans by giving them a medication that will put them on bed rest for a period of time but if they get caught her dad can get taken away.

Real Life Connections: A very distanced connection would be when covid was very serious my dad was debating whether or not to go on a business trip but of course there were pros and cons such as getting covid or going to meetings you have been preparing for for months

The school has turned into a prison with a barbwire fence surrounding it, Lisa says she felt fat and healthy compared to the prisoners meaning the prisoners were very scrawny leaving lisa super grateful for the things she has, They ended up having to go to a new school. (5) Lisa's first mission starts on Friday instead of heading home she heads to Nansen's Laundry  to get the leaflets. it was padded by real clothes in a garbage bag, the second it was handed to her anxiety struck her mission is officially a go, she gets on a streetcar just as she thinks its going well two German soldiers get on she panics as shes trying to get off she vomits all over them before she could say anything the fellow nazis on the bus tell her to go they all want it she runs off and catches her breath. She went on multiple streetcars one by one the leaflets decreased before she knew it they were all gone.

The man he killed poem: I think the author's suggestion of war is how victory is sweet and you will do anything for it. Life is unexpected one moment you can be going out for a drink the next you can be having one of the most serious wars of your life. “I shot him dead because-because he was my foe” Meaning he shot him for they were labeled as enemies in a war and he would just pull the trigger for no reason at all.

What happened in this chapter?
  • This chapter started off by lisa trying to convince her brother Stefan to let her in on his plan.
  • Then after he agrees to let her in they start the trial after school.

Real Life Connections: When i get nervous I also get a gross feeling in my stomach like lisa, although I absolutely HATE vomit,  it's my biggest phobia (emetophobia).

  • How little was the food portion size for the prisoners? were they fed at all?

A big bang she was told to not open the black curtains but she couldn't help it her dad pulled her away she wanted to know what happened so this trime stefan came with her, she saw a blazing fire blocks away, all she could think about is that's where susanne lives. The door knocks as if it's whispering she was nervous but pulled herself together and opened the door she couldn't believe her eyes it was no other than Susanne, not only that but she was scratched,bruised, burned and her hair was in fluffs. Lisa couldn't hold herself together on the inside but really  she couldn't even shed a tear that's how broken she became from the war. .

  • Mother and Father are trying to stay calm but inside they are scared for their family and know where things can go at a certain rate.

Erik:
  • Erik is chill he couldnt care less of whats going on, he thinks its just  a stupid game but for all we know its way more than that.

Lisa:
  • Lisa thought she would be okay but really it's becoming more of a struggle each day. The invasion is causing sleep problems and a little bit of anxiety for Lisa .

Lisa's father faced the fact he was a Jewish doctor in a sticky situation. Ever since the Germans invaded he and Lisa's mom have been contemplating whether he should go back to his job to treat the Germans or if he should stay home for his and his family's safety. 

At the very end of chapter two, Lisa has an important realization about how much the war has changed things. What does she realize? Explain your answer. (2)

She realizes that the town she has been raised in her whole life is becoming even more dangerous by the day leaving families stressing, dying, and getting sent to jail.

Why does Lisa decide to follow Stefan and Jesper? What does she discover? (2)

She decides to follow Stefan and Jesper because their actions have become suspicious and she overheard what seems to be a serions plan “against” the Germans.

Stefan, Jesper and Lisa play the game “Chicken” with the Nazis Soldiers.

They blew up three factories that made things such as boots and radio parts. They made jokes and cartoons about the Germans, and leaflets were and another is when Norway destroyed a huge part of germany.


  1. How does the Resistance “tell” the Danes the real news of the war? (2)

The residence telles the danes by leaving out leaflets about everything going on.

The trawler is gone lisa and jesper are huddling under a tree fro warmth, they are waiting  for the next load of people until jespers says its ti e to scout around. jesper thinks the germans are moving around to cover more coast  so they have to split up jesper and lias and stefan separate from jesper lisa still shaking to the bones, its early in the morning they then see headlights stefan shines hos flashlight to the moving object.. It's a taxi , it lets many people out parents holding infants, drugged children, old and young adults all trying to salvage their lives.Jesper orders everybody to go to the house. Lisa has a conversation with jesper and how he will stay a little longer than lisa for he will be more helpful with the people. lisa wakes up in her cozy blue bedroom, she walks out to the living room with jesper and stefan who are drinking coffee, she made one of those sister and brother jokes about her wanting coffee unless stefan made and he did so he said she could have any even tho there wasn't any ion the pot. she finds some real coffee and makes a whole pot full of it she pours it in a cup and takes the first sip suddenly she is in heaven. Jesper smiles at her that's when she realises she looks like crap with mud all over her knotty hair with twigs and leaves everywhere that's when stefan drops a hint that he is most likely not going to sweden and that's when lisa pops off at him, they then get on a boat and lisa notices a boy stuggeking then a life saver ring saves him and Lisa get ion the boat and the end.

I need advice, I think I made a mistake, I'm really regretting it. Over two years ago  Germany has invaded the Nazis, today is thursday november 27th 1942 and i'm going to be asking you to give your very serious opinion.

 Me and my buddy have been secretly adding pamphlets around Denmark for a while now, at first it was all fun in games but my sister Lisa found out and was begging to get in. I thought about it and came up with the idea to give her a mission to prove she's worthy, a mission she did and boy did she exceed my expectations. Not only did she do the mission but she vomited all over two German soldiers! Man I wish I was there but it's going to get harder and I know she knows that… But why does she want to do this? 

Anyways Abemma should I have done what I did or not let her in the plan? In all seriousness have I done the right thing or should I have been smarter with my decisions?
