This quote from the Blue Man really made me think that everything happens for a reason and nothing is random. Eddie thought that not everyone can somehow be connected, but the Blue Man said that everyone in some way is connected and can make either a positive or negative effect on their life.

This part where the Blue Man is saying that no life is a waste is very true. Eddie was saying how his life was a waste because he didn't save the girl. The Blue Man was trying to say that even though you didn't save the girl that doesn't mean you lived for nothing. He basically told Eddie the more you think about the girl the worse it is going to feel.

This quote was very important to me. It made me think what soldiers have to go through during war and that it can cause them problems when they come home. When Eddie said he came home a different man, it made me think what the veterans have to go through. After what they have seen, all of a sudden they have to get a regular job and go back to a regular life. That is very hard especially if you have PTSD which stays with you.

After seeing what happened to Rabozzo it made me think what prisoners of war go through. They have to go through living with constant pain and suffering knowing that they can't do anything about it, because if they do, they will be killed. After days and days of suffering you can only take so much, that is why Rabozzo died from his illness.

After seeing Mickey's reaction to the gun shots that Eddie is practicing with. It seems like Mickey is suffering with PTSD, and it is clearly hard for him to deal with the sound of gun shots going off. On this page Mickey was drunk and told Eddie that during war there is no time to think about killing someone, because once you think about it, you are already dead.

This paragraph about Eddie's father was describing how harsh he was, and that Eddie wasn't really that important to him. I recognized that Eddie's father never really payed attention to him, and if Eddie disturbed his father he would yell at Eddie and hit him. I can maybe infer that Eddie was more close to his mother because as soon as Eddie's dad hit him, he ran right to his mother in pain.

This is when Eddie meets Ruby. It almost seemed as if Ruby was disappointed because Eddie couldn't recognize her. It made Eddie really surprised that it was Ruby because that is what they named Ruby Pier after. After meeting Ruby she taught Eddie to forgive his father even though that it was hard, it was the right thing to do. She helped Eddie see his father more clearly and after years of hating him, he understood his anger.

After Eddie's father died I thought to myself that Eddie's dad was a drunk and couldn't stop his abuse. Eddie's mother was saying how there has been multiple times where the father has came home smelling like a liquor store and wet from almost drowning in the ocean. That explains why Eddie's dad was always mad at him, it was because he was always drunk and angry. Eddie's mother thought it was her fault that he died because he didn't call the first responded fast enough. Eddie accommodated her by saying that it was his fault because he couldn't control himself.

She is saying that even though it is hard to forgive someone, in most cases it is the right thing to do. She says, "when we die, the soul is freed of it." This means that now that Eddie is dead, he has no anger so he can forgive his father.

This quote made me think that love always exists even when that something or someone is gone. It made Eddie think that when someone is gone you can still love them, but just in a different way. I agree with marguerite because the love that you have with someone doesn’t just leave when they die. You just have to change the way that you love them, and that isn’t always the easiest, but in most cases the best thing for you to do. That lesson can help people manage their peace.

This quote made me think back about the Blue Man's lesson when he says that everyone's life gets affected somehow by everyone's decisions. The quote on the last page is basically saying the same thing, because even though everyone's story is different, they are all one because everyone gets affected by people decision.

After reading this page I can infer that Eddie's age was going by so fast because they were showing how his life was dull when Marguerite was not with him. It showed how unhappy he was therefore his life was flying by because he had nothing to live for. Eddie did not have a good quality of life while he was lonely, which made his life accelerate.

I thought this quote was very deep and important to the story. I was thinking that silence alone is uncomfortable even when it can be broken, although when you know it's permanent, there is no time for a response or forgiveness. Eddie felt like this was a loss in his life. This quote captured when moments were left unheard and now Eddie's words can't be heard again from Marguerite.
