I’m very excited to be back at the same school where I did my first practicum. I’m placed in grade 9 geography once again with my MT from first year. However, my MT really wants me to get some experience teaching history because it is my second teachable. I just found out after my first day of placement that I will actually be teaching subjects in my subject area (Social Sciences & English) as opposed to Math & Science, which is great! I noticed that the school is VERY diverse! I also noticed that many of the students are very introverted and keep to themselves, which is expected after a year of virtual learning.

I noticed when I presented a diverse range of mediums to help execute their History project many students gravitated towards hand writing and hand drawing as opposed to using a device. I think offering choices gave the students autonomy over their own learning and made them want to work harder. Another strategy I witnessed on the very first day of placement was the transparency in my MT's teaching.
