All wives had died from childbirth or illness. She was named after her mother, who had seven children along with her. At seven years old Caroline displayed an interest for immigration. Caroline got the government on her side, and took over a former immigration hostel. She renamed the hostel "Female Immigration Home." She set up an employment office, developed work contracts, and eventually found work for the girls or placed them with established families so that they didn't starve. Caroline Chisholm was a British-born Australian philanthropist.

This writing was directed to men who had made the immigrants leave their children and country, this was showed at the start of the writing where the first word is 'gentlemen,' this implies that Caroline was directing the writing to men who had deported immigrants.

The richer class have many ways of shielding themselves, and stand less in need of help from the State; whereas the mass of the poor have no resources of their own to fall back upon, and must chiefly depend upon the assistance of the State. 
 
And it is for this reason that wage-earners, since they mostly belong in the mass of the needy, should be specially cared for and protected by the government.

Chisholm Sacrificed many things to make everyone respect immigrants and the poor. One of them being herself and her career, many times she could have faced hate or violence from people that disagreed with her opinions and what she was doing for immigrants.  

Caroline spoke out about the injustices of disrespect towards the poor and immigrants, Caroline worked with immigrant children who had lost their family from deportation and with poor people who were in need of help. 

Caroline created a great influence over time, people started following her and agreeing with her views and opinions. With this Caroline prayed daily, and devoted her work to the poor and immigrants because of God. This society was inspired by Caroline Chisholm and have a mission to, "To deliver a range of pregnancy and family support services that respond to the needs of families and support them to achieve and maintain a safe and nurturing environment." This society have some values of, has respect for life, is compassionate and caring, and values social justice, just to name a few. They do the same work of Caroline by helping children and families, which is what Caroline did with immigrant families who lost their parents from deportation.
