As community colleges are working to achieve their institutional measures and outcomes it is critical to efficiently prepare and academically engage students according to their learning styles to increase retention, transfer, and graduation efforts. Learning styles are the individual processes used for understanding and retaining information, thereby gaining knowledge or skills (Jiraporncharoen, Wichuda, et al., 2015). This study will be aimed to explore the associations between learning styles and high academic achievement and to ascertain whether the factors associated with high academic achievement are utilized by Native Hawaiian students at the community college level. The most utilized learning style of Native Hawaiian students should also be determined in this study.

Quantitative Approach

The quantitative approach would determine the frequently utilized learning styles by Native Hawaiian students through surveys. The demographic characteristics, learning styles, and grade point average of each student would need to be identified to successfully conduct the study. My question is how to determine the factors associated with high academic achievement and its correlation to the learning styles identified by Native Hawaiian students. Also, ascertaining the connection between implementing learning styles and retention, transfer, and graduation would need to be determined through quantitative measures.
