Similar to the Skype in the classroom concept. Zoom is the video conferencing tool that we use in our school.
We have used this tool to collaborate and have group discussions, as well as interview various people all over the world on various topics. This semester's past interviewees have include: A doctor of "Melittology" (the study of bees), a fish and wild life technician, a sustainability instagram influencer, and a sanitation engineer.

Modification of the interview investigations have included being able to interview people far away, as well as do so as a group, rather than individually. In the past interviews were many times conducted via email, but this allows for a synchronous activity that changes the flow of questioning of the interviewee.

Both of these tools could be choices for students to use rather than mandatory tools.
Zoom could be used to provide my online students with extra video conferencing support with peers or myself. It also could be used very independently for students that need less support in their inquiry activities.
Soundtrap can involve very straight forward record and play...or it can be used to create very professional/polished work. To support students that need extra help in using this tool, peers, or myself can also be added as contributors to aid in the editing and production process in order to students to create a higher quality deliverable while still fully participating in the other aspects of podcast recreation.

As students are the driving factor behind the questioning, and all learners are encouraged to participate in the communication and questioning process as a community, all students benefit from observing other people's thinking and processes. Social learning and collaboration are very motivating and effective ways of learning.

Zoom is a cloud based group video conferencing program in which all students have equal ability to contribute to the discussion via chats, video, and audio. Students have input throughout the live conference.
Soundtrap allows students the independence to create their own podcast in the way that they choose. It is a lower pressure way for students to convey verbal information to their class as well as potentially the masses.
