-        Work with families (identify the group of victims) – behavioural with change – cheerful when u first meet them, but they may be reserved after that (build more rapport with them then will share) identifying the signs that people may not be able to observe clearly of sexual victims (but as long as be more observant to manage and build rapport then they will share these information) – management different perspective

-        Parent child relationship: parent don’t give support (emotionally not attuned to the girl, family is blaming her and she sees no point in going for therapy (not on communicative terms and telling different stories) (lack of transparency between parties)

-        Once you built rapport woth student, students not sure whether to make a report (bc of info on negative exp with police officers) – what if the police officer don’t believe me – important to build trust with the student also

-        Need to manage the social situation that is created (they will search for their validations and information seeking, affirm them but want to fight the miscommunication)

-        Society still got a lot of victim blaming (esp parents, why did my daughter do that etc.)

-        Not very sure of the other systems protocol (Work with CPS and FSC but dk the protocol of CPS): mom might not be agreeable for the case to be referred to CPS  (no need parental consent) (no need to inform every detail but most of the detail – FSC as a protective factor is gone and rapport gone

-        Training and building knowledge and skillset (FSC level: since handling so much cases, having the skillset to manage client while they bring it up to higher ups (CPS) – how to manage the teen while waiting for CPS and NAVH

-        Know the processes of the police and higher ups ( so that it gives the victims assurance and clarity and they can make better decisions knowing the context) – through going down to school to have talks and talk about the prevalence of sexual violence

Consent of consent in terms of consensual underage sex (mainly when there are multiple parties involved)

·       Fear of parents knowing, lack of parental support

·       Student recanted incident after few sessions; denial and frustration for counsellors

·       Need to bring in new colleague after few session à new element coming in (rapport and trust issues)

·       Mandatory reporting, need to prioritise therapeutic alliance but obligated to report (tension)

·       Case happens few years back, intention is not to have any legal actions (struggle with alliance vs legal obligation)

·       Mental health challenges

·       Greater clarity on reporting process

Address Gaps/Challenges:

·       Know the reporting and investigative process well, help clients to be less fearful/daunting (social worker and counsellors)

·       Social workers only know process via websites, not involved in full process

·       Useful to know the process and timeline since they are one of the first person client tells to

Site visits, videos and images to better visualise process

·       Useful if can collaborate across agencies, currently it is agency centric

·       Common learning structure (through dialogues, sharings)

·       Having common frameworks may be too rigid

-        Police procedures appear to be unclear for organisations and victims

-        Reporting process and assistance seeking is daunting for victim

-        Layout the procedure when it comes to reporting and seeking help for victim so that they know what to expect
