         <description><![CDATA[<div>Safeguarding within the EYFS <br>The safeguarding and welfare requirements are designed to ensure the childcare providers promote the welfare of children and keep them safe and well. The EYFS is a very detailed document and when it comes to safeguarding and welfare there is a lot to take in. <br><br>It’s imperative to have fully implemented safeguarding policies at childcare settings and to have a designated safeguarding lead that leases with the relevant local authorities.  <br><br>All staff must be given child safeguarding training including training on the setting’s policies and procedures, and also induction training that covers all the areas such as equality and diversity and health &amp; safety. There is also a requirement for ongoing professional development opportunities. <br><br>The EYFS  requires certain supervision structures and also specific staff ratios for all childcare setting - based largely on the ages of the children been looked after. It also state that children must  always be within at least either sight or hearing of staff. <br> <br>Promotion of good health for the children in childcare settings is vital. There must be procures in place for when children get ill, suitable first aid facilities, written records, and healthy snacks meal and drinks.<br>The areas used for food preparation must be adequately equipped and food hygiene training for anyone preparing or handling food is essential.<br><br>Smacking- or any other kind of punishment that may have an adverse effect on a child’s well-being - must be strictly forbidden.<br><br>The EYFS defines what records must be kept on both children and staff, and how and where to store them confidentially, and when to share them ( with parents, other professionals, the police, social services and Ofsted), as appropriate.<br>There are rules around what information must be available to parent/carers, including information on how the Eyfs is being delivered, the activities and experience that are provided, policies and procedures, emergency contact details, and information about the child’s key person. <br><br>Everyone working in an early years setting needs to be aware of the safeguarding and welfare require of the eyfs. We’ve listed some of them above, but to ensure a full understanding of all the safeguarding and welfare requirements for the eyfs- as well as a broad awareness of the rest of the EYFS statutory guidance- you can train your staff in flicks new the EYFS made simple course, and much more ; all as part of the flick subscription. <br><br><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Children Act 2004<br>Provides the legal basis for how social services and other agencies deal with issues concerning children.<br>Principles of the Act<br>The children Act 2004 was designed to support and protect children.<br>. To allow children to be healthy <br>. Helping children have a good quality of life<br>. To help make a positive contribution to the lives of the children <br>. Allowing children to remain safe in their environment <br>. To help achieve economic stability for the future.<br>However this act provides the legal and the underpinning to ‘every child’s matters : change for children ‘2004. <br>In addition to the children act 2004 also the provision for a children’s fund was designed in other to eradicate poverty and financial hardship felt by underprivileged children or their families.<br>The idea of children fund is to make sure that children between the ages of five and thirteen are in regular attendance at school.<br>Also to help reduce the risk of crime carried out by children these ages.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <title>The Prevent Duty</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The prevent duty is the duty in the Counter Terrorism and Security. <br>To fulfil the prevent day for schools and childcare givers it is  essential that staff are able to identify children who may be vulnerable to radicalisation and know what to do when they are identified. <br>Protecting children from the risk of radicalisation should be seen as part of schools and childcare providers wider safeguarding duties and is simlair in nature to protecting children from other harm. <br>It affection that children and young people may vary from area to area according to their age. <br>Schools and caregivers are in an important position to identify the risk within the given local context. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Lawful, fair and transparent processing - Nurserys need to be compliantly open (legal) about the type of data collected and how it’s used. <br>Limitation of purpose data and storage - Using the dat for the purpose we said that we are using it for, and also how long we said we are keeping it for. Making it a policy in nursery to not ask for unecessary Imformation.<br>Nursery has a responsibility to deleate information when it is no longer needed anymore. <br><br>Consent - consent is very important, nursery’s should get clear and explicit consent from the data subject. And the data subject is aloud to withdraw consent at anytime.  <br><br>Personal data breaches - if data is lost or is not secure then the nursery is responsible to contact the data subject within 72 hours. <br><br>Privacy by design- when setting up policies and procedures within the nursery embed dat protection as part of the structure, ie, changing passwords regularly to keep secure and safe, every two month.<br><br><br></div>]]></description>

This is a law enforcement agency that protects children and young people from sexual exploitation and grooming. It allows you to speak to qualified advisers to guide without getting judged. There are also many links and guidelines on the website on how to report sexual abuse or any sort of grooming. You can  directly report to them if something has happened online on their website which will then reviewed and read by a child protection advisers and they will immediately be in contact via email or contact number and will advise you on what to do next. <br>CEOP only focuses on sexual abuse/grooming. <br><br></div>]]></description>
