Locke Studies is the one journal in the world that deals specifically with John Locke, and is the continuation of The Locke Newsletter, which appeared for thirty-one years, beginning in 1970. It publishes articles and research notes on all aspects of Locke’s life and work, and on related authors; also queries on unresolved points in Locke, or unsolved problems. Submissions may be made in English, French, German, or Italian. Its international scope and significance has been recognised by the European Science Foundation, which ranks Locke Studies as an international journal with significant visibility. All articles are blind peer-reviewed.

Timothy Stanton

Editor
Reference lockestudies.org

The belief that the human is "preformed" at the instant of conception and only grows in size and bulk until birth. Predominant in the middle ages, parents would send their children off to work as apprentices where they would practice their craftsmanship and become "little adults", by the time they were 12
adults didn't pay attention to the child's age or developing language and motor skills because children blended in with the adults in the workplace, festivals, and games.
