The Blue Cave

Vučedolska golubica (dove)

It's the most famous ceramic vessel from the archeological excavations on Vučedol. Although it is called a dove, archaeologists believe that it's actually a partridge bird. It is dark in color, decorated with white ornaments such as bows, necklaces, a series of wavy and zigzag lines on the wings. On the neck there are inlaid three symbols of the hourglass or double ax.

Greeting to the Sun, the work of award-winning Zadar architect Nikola Bašić, is located in the western part of the waterfront next to the Sea Organ. Greeting to the Sun consists of three hundred multi-layered glass panels placed at the level of the waterfront, in the shape of a circle 22 meters in diameter. Fairy chimney is a rock formation formed by the erosion of the ground by flood waters coming down from the valley slopes, emerging from thin long, arid basins and the surfaces of kirgibayir. The bodies of fairy chimneys are usually composed of soft minerals and hard, more difficult-to-erode rock at the top. Their bodies usually have a conical shape. Their shape varies depending on the forms of erosion. Different mineral layers(sedimentary and volcanic rocks) can cause different colors in their bodies. Their diameter varies from 1 to 15 meters, formations that go beyond this decimation cannot be classified as fairy chimneys. Fairy Chimneys are found mainly in dry and hot areas in the desert. The difference between hoods(the hat-type rock on it) or towers in common use is that hoods are deciphered as having a totem pole-shaped body, while also having a variable thickness.
