And from there assess the P.O.V of the source, is it personal to the person, the church, heir-achy etc. But focus more on the initial question of How the Eucharist gives purpose to the lives of Catholics? I'm focusing on how the Eucharist creates purpose for Catholics. This is what I've found other people doing and this is also what I've heard him focus on more so than the destiny and things like that.

Catholic Beliefs on New Life - How does the Euacharistic Rite express belief of destiny?

http://www.patheos.com/Library/Roman-Catholicism/Beliefs/Afterlife-and-Salvation.html

In Catholic Christian understanding, all of human history is geared toward salvation.

Humans are trapped by their own sinfulness in bondage to death, but God broke the bondage, allowing who believe in Christ to be saved from their fate of death.

Catholics have affirmed no salvation outside the Church; this means that all those who are not in communion with the Catholic Church cannot be saved.

More recently; Catholics believe that the Church is the sign of God's presence in the world, that all those who come to God do so through the medium of the Church even when they themselves do not recognize the Catholic Church's role in their salvation.

Catholics see a close connection between salvation and atonement, which is the way that God comes to forgive human sin through the actions of Jesus the Christ.

A number of writers in the early Church believed that humans were in bondage to Satan, deserving death because of their sins.

Since Jesus lived a perfect and sinless life, he owed nothing to Satan but allowed himself to suffer death anyway, ransoming the souls of all of humanity by breaking Satan's claim to own them due to sinfulness.

St. Anselm said that humans owe God a perfect life but are unable to deliver it because of their sinfulness.

God became incarnate in Jesus and lived a perfect life, meaning that he owed nothing more to God, but he freely chose to accept death.

With this action he created such a surplus of obedience and honor that he repaid to God all that humans had been or would be unable to pay.

Thus he substituted his obedience for their sinfulness.

In traditional Catholic understanding, the human retains individuality beyond death and goes on to experience one of three states of being: heaven, purgatory, or hell.

Heaven is the place of perfect peace and joy, a place where humans join the angels in having direct knowledge of God and praising God through eternity.

It is the hope and desire of all Catholics to reach heaven and exist in this perfection, but they generally believe that most souls are not cleansed enough of sin in this lifetime to be ready for heaven and instead will enter an interim state called purgatory.

How does the Eucharist give people purpose?

The Eucharist is a ceremony that has been carried on since Jesus broke the bread at the passover (Last Supper) before he was betrayed by Judas and crucified on the cross.

This breaking of the bread symbolises....... (USE SOURCE - http://www.gotquestions.org/breaking-of-bread.html)

- I don't know if this fits, but this is the last paragraph on the source linked above and I thought that atleast if we re-worded it and adding a few contexts of our own, it could be relevant to the task-?-:

Another significance of the broken bread is the symbolism of Christ, the Bread of Life, being broken on the cross for our sin. At the first communion in the upper room, Jesus describes the breaking of the bread in these terms: “This is my body, broken for you” (1 Corinthians 11:24). Although not a bone of Jesus’ body was broken on the cross (John 19:31-33,36;Psalm 34:20), His skin and flesh were torn and broken by blows with rods and fists, by whippings and scourgings, by thorns, nails, and spears. His body and soul were divided from each other by death, and by that brokenness, we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). As His people, we participate in His sufferings and brokenness, being broken by sin as He was broken by the punishment He willingly received for our redemption. “And is not the bread that we break a participation in the body of Christ?” (1 Corinthians 10:16).

It gives Catholics purpose because......

(This source should cover the answer - I only briefly overlooked it - http://christianity.stackexchange.com/questions/14192/what-is-the-significance-of-priest-breaking-the-bread-host-in-a-catholic-mass)
