The Steam Engine was created in 1765 by James Watt. It uses heat and steam to create power used for other mechanical engines. It affected the people poorly because it was not super safe and it released bad pollution into the air. A good thing that came out of it was that it allowed for more powerful factories and many different engines to use power more efficiently.
Teeples, Weston.

The Power Loom was created by Edward Cartwright in 1785. It helps weave materials together and it made the materials better quality and more tightly weaved. A bad thing that came out of this invention was that hand weavers lost their jobs. A good thing was that the clothes were better quality.
Jolley, Brielle-Lewis, Mia "The Power Loom" 9/15/21, Padlet, U.S. History

The Steam Engine, made in 1802, was created based on the Steam engine. They adapted the steam engine so that it could be used on land as a form of transportation. The train helped transport people and things faster than ever before. The Steam Locomotive had to be refueled every so often which was a pain.
Nowers, JJ. "Steam Engine Locomotive" 9/15/21, Prezi, U.S. History.

The Steam Boat was created by Robert Fulton in the Delaware River. It was made to have more efficient River Transportation. It uses the Steam Engine to function. A good thing that came out of the steamboat is that "their speed and ability to travel against the current is a way to save time. You can transfer a lot more cargo as well." (Graf & Poulsen) A bad thing about the steamboat is that it released a lot of pollution.
Poulsen, Charlotte- Graf, Ellie.

The Steam-Powered Grain Elevator was made in 1842 by John Dart. The elevator was used for transferring grain and loading things into boats and train cars. These were good because they made things easier for farmers to transfer their grains and for the people who have to load the trains and boats. One of the bad things was that it was super expensive and many people couldn't afford it.
Hartle, Natasha.
