Description:

Smallpox is a very serious illness caused by a virus called the variola virus.

For now, there are no cases of smallpox disease in the United States.

The last case of smallpox in the U.S was in 1949, and the last case in the world was in 1977.

This virus can spread to other people, and it spreads through tiny drops of an infected person's saliva when the person coughs, talks, or sneezes.

A vaccine, a type of shot, can prevent infection with the virus that causes smallpox.

There are no pills that can treat smallpox, but scientists are doing research to try to develop medicine for the disease.

The other symptoms of smallpox are like those of many other less serious illnesses: fever, headache, backache, and feeling tired.

Early Vaccines:

The first successful vaccine to be developed, was introduced by Edward Jenner in 1796.

Edward Jenner followed up his observation that milkmaids who had previously caught cowpox did not later catch smallpox by showing that inoculated cowpox protected against inoculated smallpox.

The vaccine does not contain the variola virus that causes smallpox, but exposes the immune system to proteins that look like the virus so that an immune response occurs.

Routine vaccination against smallpox ended in 1972.

Through the use of the vaccine, smallpox was eliminated from causing human infection in the world in 1977.

The level of immunity among persons who were vaccinated before 1972 is uncertain.

Causes:

Bettelheim declared that autism was an emotional disorder that developed in some children because of psychological harm brought upon them by their mothers. Kanner had observed a small sampling of children from educated families typically from the academic community.

Leaky gut and autism:
For their opinion some children from MMR vaccine founded many holes on their got and for that reason vaccine going to their brain and it's make autism. Also people should be stop vaccinate.
Data Flaws:
Mr. Wakefield jus found simple causes, but it was not enough. So parents came to him and they said their children get some holes after when their children get vaccinate, and he just made a data from what parents tell him, but there is not any results because of parent do not remember the actual time of when their children get that sickness.
Methods and Motives:
The scientist didn't believe them , but public not heard anything about these things. They said people should get three diffrent vaccines and also public heard that and they start to thing he is a good doctor for them. The scientists use public emotional and that's why public believe what they said.
The lawyers paid $50,000 to collect data for the suit, and they try to change people opinion to get MMR vaccine to make more money.
